  • New to Atkins...I have a few questions! Please help!

Hey you guys! I am new to the Atkins diet, I am only 22 and I am slightly heavier than I want to be. I started this diet on Wednesday, today is Saturday and I feel like crap! This morning I woke up so light-headed and sick at my stomach. Is this normal? Also, How many carbs can someone eat a day? I've been eatting eggs and ham with some cheese for the last few days, I drink water, well this morning I put a lemon propel in my water, to find out later it had 6 carbs! Does Diet Coke have carbs?...I've also been walking/jogging 2-3 miles a day, I've been taking slimquick, is this too much?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jamie.

I'm a bit concerned about your diet because it doesn't resemble Atkins at all. There are alot of myths and lies about Atkins, such as you only eat meat and no vegetables. And if you follow those myths, you can potentially do more harm to your health than good.

So please, for the sake of your health, please read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 edition. Or at the very least read the FAQ section of this board (the link is on the top navigational bar) for the information about Induction Phase.

Please take the time to read these links and the book before attempting to do this Diet. Again, there's alot more to it than eating meat and eggs and drinking water. I'm sure you want to lose weight in a healthy way. So please read and educate yourself to avoid hurting yourself.
