  • Blew it!!!!

Yesterday was my last day of induction and today I was out of town all day and I just blew it, according to Fit day I had 59 net carbs!!!! I am so mad at myself . I guess I'll pick myself up and start over, prepare my snacks ahead of time and plan my meals like I did the first week but I am so frustrated right now!!! I want this weight off and now I have set myself back for nothing!!!!!!

I really hope I can do this, I have lost 8 pounds but my clothes don't seem to fit any differently, I don't understand why this would be unless it's the abs exercise I've been doing I feel like I am building muscle but I still have a bunch of fat sitting on top of it, does this make sense. I know in the long run it will do good so I'm going to keep up with it, I'm just so frustrated right now.

Get right back on that horse! You can do it!! Don't let today's choices turn into anything more than a lesson learned. Next time you're going to be gone all day - you'll remember this day and you will have a plan! Keep it up!

Mendo it seems lie you've lost quite a bit for your BMI and weight
        You have done great

        So don't give up

On another note: If it takes us to get into ketosis for 2-3 days, does it not take the same amount of time to get out?

          Re: Blew it!!!!

Just get right back on the wagon and don't look back. Another time you'll remember how you felt afterwards and that'll help dissuade you from blowing it again.
Good for you for calling a halt to the binge at 59 carbs. It could've been a lot worse. Many binge and it lasts for weeks/months!!!

At this end of induction point, why not join Jimmie's semi annual "No Scale Challenge"? It would be very cool to weigh, then put the scale away and see how you've done after a couple of weeks! The link is:

Hang in there! You can do this!

            Re: Blew it!!!!

Mendogirl, you dont need to restart your 14 days induction because you went over your carbs for one day or meal!

If you want to stay on induction for a while to get back into ketosis then that is fine but make a note of your 14 day weightloss to have as a guide as to whether your body is more or less resistant to losing weight as in the chart in DANDR and to help you guess what your likely CCLL will be.

I would suggest moving to OWL after a few days more induction eating to start finding out what foods affect your body and find your CCLL.

Dr Atkins does tell us to make sure we are at the third stage of Atkins (premaintenance) when we still have 5-10 pounds to lose so you need not spend months on induction as some of us heavyweights flt we needed to!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

                  Re: Blew it!!!!

Thanks so much for all of the support, encouragement & WISDOM!!! I think I will just go back to induction for a few days until I'm back into Ketosis then head to OWL because I'm clearly getting a little restless in induction & I need to ease into OWL so I can continue to learn while I'm getting the rest of this weight off.

Again I can't thank everyone enough for your support.
