Yep! On the grains rung! All the more reason to get moving on to OWL. The fact that you did so well on 14 day induction(CONGRATS, by the way!) is actually a good indication that you can move to OWL.

      Re: wraps

Kelly, as you progress through the program there is NO FOOD you can't have.

A lot of people actually experience better losses in OWL than they do in Induction - and OWL is there for several reasons, the least of which is not learning what you can and can not do food wise and learning how to control those things. It's a very methodical process and it's one designed to empower and educate you about your body.

Again, there's nothing you *can't* have once you've hit pre-maintenance/maintenance. That's has to be one of the biggest misconceptions about this WOE. That doesn't mean that sugar/flour/starch/empty calories/junk food are *ever* good for you, but it does mean that you should be learning about moderation and learning how to incorporate "once in awhile" into your big picture.

Kylie is right. Wraps on the grain rung.

        Re: wraps

Just adding to what Brook said...

Induction Phase is exactly that: it inducts you into the Atkins Diet by getting you into ketosis.

After the 14 days of it are done, you move onto the On-Going Weight Loss Phase. This is where people get confused. On-Going Weight Loss means exactly that: you'll continue to lose weight, which is why you stay on it until you are 5-10 pounds from your goal weight.

Now some people may benefit from staying on Induction a little longer. According to Dr. Atkins, these people are the ones who have metabolic imbalances that increase their metabolic resistance to weight loss. Staying on Induction alittle longer can help reverse some of these imbalances.

Induction was never meant to be the only weight loss phase of Atkins. If it was, then Dr. Atkins wouldn't have tossed in On-Going Weight Loss Phase or Pre-Maintenance Phase. But that's where some people mess up. They think that they are stuck eating Induction level carbs and stuck eating the foods off the Induction Acceptable Foods list until they lose all their weight.

I think if more people trust in Dr. Atkins enough to believe him about OWL and Pre-Maintenance, we wouldn't have so many "Second Time Arounders" and a whole lot more goalies.

As a second time arounder, all I have to say is "Ain't that the truth!"

We trusted him to do induction...and IT WORKED! In order to be a goalie, you've got to trust him to do Ongoing Weight Loss!

            Re: wraps

EXACTLY! I made that mistake the first time around or I might not be here in the STAC! I won't be making that mistake again. Today is day 15 - I lost 17.2 pounds during 14 days of induction which tells me that my resistance is LOW - so today, it's on to OWL. I may lose as quickly as last time, I may lose faster or slower - doesn't matter. It did me NO good to lose 43 pounds last time in a short time only to end up with all of it back and then some because I didn't take my time to learn what OWL and premaintenance had to teach me! Trust this WOE as Dr. Atkins set it out and you will succeed long term!

              Re: wraps

I know you meant a different kind of wrap, but lettuce wraps can be enjoyed on induction. I like to wrap tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad, sliced deli meat and cheese, guac chicken and salsa, and lots of other goodies in lettuce and gobble them up.

              I'm a turkey, gobble gobble....lol

                Re: wraps

I am still in induction (for the second time) And after two weeks I moved on "on going" I was still losing "until I moved in with my mum-in-law for 2 weeks before we could into our place" It all went to ***.. just a psychological click. Sometimes numerous factors make us stop. I want to move on to Ongoing in the next 2 days as I've already lost 7 lbs which is more than 10% of the weight I want to lose. I like to make my own wrap so I know there is no added ingredient. Good luck and do move on to Ongoing, its easy to stay on track.. you can have all strawberries all type of berries .. which I miss in induction, but this time Induction is a lot easier for me than the first time because this time I looked through my old albums and I'm going to put a picture on my fridge just as a reminder!
I've also taken the "no scale challenge" So I haven't weight myself 2 days n counting.

ITA...the first time I did Atkins I was in induction for 6 months. I lost a lot of weight but I never learnt how to eat properly. I am doing it the right way this time.
