  • Processed Cheese

Okay, so I'm a total newbie, but I am excited and ready to go. I've been sticking to it the last two days, and so far I feel great! I have a question about cheeses though. I usually just get HyVee or Walmart Shredded Cheese in a bag (Mozzarella or Cheddar). Is this a processed cheese? I also buy Kraft string cheese sticks and Sargento Colby-Jack Cubes. I make sure I count the carbs and stay under 3oz, but if there processed I shouldn't be eating them at all right? Sorry, if this is a dumb question, but I want to do this right!
You all are such an inspiration and I can't wait to get going!
    Thanks

    Re: Processed Cheese

As I live in UK I dont know about the brands you mentioned but would suggest looking at the ingredients on the labels to make your decision. I think they would be OK but check anyway.
I have read on ADBB that the preshredded cheeses often have starch added to help keep the shreds from sticking so you would be safer to buy blocks of cheese and grate or shred them yourself.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
