  • A small victory!

Hi, at my job, I do the birthday cakes. I get really good ones from the Giant supermarket where we work. Anyway, I had to get two and I didn't have one piece, not even licking my fingers, not even tasting the frosting, which is sooooo goooood. It was hard and I kept looking at it but I didn't really want any. I think that the Atkins in kicking in.

Yesterday, was day one without any sugerfree gum, was a bit tempted but I didn't do it. Also, I didn't have any cream in my decaf tea today...yet.

This is day 12 of induction for me. I'm feeling a little light headed, but it's not bad. I drank only 72oz of water yesterday, normally I do over 100oz.

I have one more attiction to kick and that's jumping on the scale every morning and checking for ketosis every time I go to the bathroom when I get home .

Thanks for reading and thanks for the support.

    Re: A small victory!

foojoy, great job! I've been on the scale probably 300 out of 352 days last year. Wait, probably 325 of 352 days last year.....and I checked for ketosis about a bajillion times. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, it's helped keep me on track. I don't freak out though over the ups and downs. I only freak if it starts going up,up, up, and up. That's "Houston, we have a problem" . What I've learned over the past year is how much water, food, fiber, TOM, and exercise affect my body. I can almost plan when I'll gain weight in a month. You keep coming here and tweaking your plan, you're doing a good job!

Wow! Good for you. That takes commitment and will power. You really sound like your in 100%.
I know how hard it is. Last night I went out with some relitives to a restaurant. They bring you out all the free tortilla chips you want and everyone around me was indulging big time and ordered entrees I can't even smell because the carb counts were so high. Anyway, I got a steak and salad, and stupid me I forgot to be very specific in ordering and they brought me out white toast and croutons throughout my salad. I looked like a fool but I took about 2 minutes picking it all out. Yeah... I know, gross, but I won't be making that mistake again. lol At least I learned a lesson and conquered the cravings!
