14th day on atkins

  • 14th day on atkins

    I have been on atkins 14 days. I have only lost 10 pounds . I do notice a difference in my clothes. Should I stay on atkins longer, Do you lose more weight. I read on one of this posts, of a man who would drink an atkins shake for break/dinner and only had lunch. Is this okay to do, Do you lose more weight? I am really anxious to see results, please any guidance will be useful!! My co-workers and I have a bet going to see who lose more weight in 2 months, to keep eachother motivated started last Monday 1/15/07. Everyone is basically doing thier own thing, I am the only one doing atkins, Please help!

    WOW! You've lost almost a quarter of what you want to lose in only 14 days! That ROCKS! You have nothing to be You should be shouting from the rooftops about your wonderful success!!!!! Keep up the great work - and with that 14 day loss, I would definitely move right on to OWL! Again, CONGRATS!!!!!

      Hi and congrats on your loss.

      I noticed on the weight ticker, that your starting weight is 189 and your goal weight is about 145. So you have a 44 pound weight loss goal, right?

      Each of us can expect to lose 5-10% of the weight we need to lose during the 14 Day Induction. Therefore a person with a 100 pound loss goal can expect to lost 5-10 pounds and a person with a 10 pound loss goal can expect to lose 1/2 to 1 pound. You lost 10 pounds, or 23% of the weight you need to lose. It's better than excellent to lose almost a quarter of the weight you need to lose in only 14 days!!!!

      Also if you look at the Weight Loss Charts in the book, your 10 pound loss indicates you have low metabolic resistance to weight loss. So you might want to consider moving to the "On-Going Weight Loss Phase" of Atkins. Contrary to popular belief, the only people who might benefit by staying on Induction phase longer are those people with a high metabolic resistance to weight loss---which you don't have.

      As for drinking shakes for two meals---that's Slim Fast, not Atkins. We eat real food on Atkins, not fake, artificial garbage.assorted chemicals.

        WOW!!! You lost two 5 lb bags of sugar!!

        or.....you can think about it as 40 sticks of butter!!!!!

        That is a great start!!!! You should be very proud of yourself.

          Great 14-day losses!!
          Definitely move to the main weightloss phase of Atkins (OWL) and start adding your rung one vegetable 5 net carbs!
          Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

            I think you are doing great, follow their advice here and you will continue to loose. I only lost 4lbs during induction, and I was thirlled with it. Keep up the good work!!
