Re: Crab Legs
Crab leg = good
eating till you are stuff = bad
One of the major goals of this plan is to train yourself to eat only until you are satiated. As long as you can go and eat only what you need then it should be fine. I'd think that would be hard to do though, not only because we are talking about crab here (mmm mmm good) but also because when you do try to stop you will probably have to sit staring at your husband for another half hour while he fills up to the brim.Grant

Re: Crab Legs
ARe these real crab legs or are they the imitation crab legs? Imitiation crab legs are filled with sugar and starch fillers so they are not allowed on Atkins.
Crab and other seafood are legal on Atkins. Clams and mussels have higher carbs than most seafoods, so you have to limit them per the Induction Acceptable Foods List. As for how much crab you can eat....you have to follow the rules: eat until you are satisfied by don't stuff yourself. This is true of any food on Atkins.

Re: Crab Legs
I didn't know there was such a thing as imitation crab legs. I'm aware of imitation crab meat, but not legs. I went to a crab feed also and ate the crab that was there. Looked real, so I think it was the real thing. No one said otherwise, so I think I was ok.Originally posted by not2lateARe these real crab legs or are they the imitation crab legs? Not2late, How can you tell?
You should be o.k. joyous. Check with the person putting on the crab feed to be sure there isn't any imitation crab involved. Pace yourself against your husband. Go to the bathroom a couple of times to allow him time to "catch up" so that by the time you become full, he will to hopefully. Keeps you from staring at him eat. Enjoy yourself...crab is good!

What a good suggestionOriginally posted by Quitstretchin'Pace yourself against your husband. Go to the bathroom a couple of times to allow him time to "catch up" so that by the time you become full, he will to hopefully. Keeps you from staring at him eat.
I use a similar technique when we visit my 90 yearold mother who eats very slowly although she doesnt eat much, as I noticed that she was leaving some food if we finished long before she was halfway through her small portion.
Now I make sure I fiddle about with mine and take lots of pauses to make sure we both finish at roughly the same time to make sure she eats all hers!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Crab Legs
You have to be careful with seafood.. eating too much of it can induce an allergic reaction and in some cases induce an allergic reaction to seafood in the future.
the consensus seems to be in moderation. Enjoy! I may be joining you shortly

Re: Crab Legs
Imitation crab legs are those fake crab things that are the size and shape of a cheese stick, but have a reddish-orangish dye on one side to mimic a real Alaskan crab leg. Basically, if it doesn't have a shell, be wary.~Megs~
