  • after first day of exercise...

    hey all! i know this may sound crazy, but today is day 11 on induction for me and yesterday was the first day that i had a really good workout (i worked out 20 min one other time, but wasnt too strenuous). i did 30 min. on the elliptical and 30 min w/hand weights and ab workout. well, when i woke up today, i gained 2 lbs. ok, ok, dont shoot me...i know my weight will fluctuate and all that good stuff and im totally kool with that. what i was wondering is this...has anyone else had a tiny weight gain experience the day after their first workout? im just wondering if using muscles that u havent used in a while make some sort of difference on the scale or with water retention. i did notice that i drank a lot more water yesterday. im sore today, but i do feel good at the same time.

    Oooh yeah, happens ALL the time. Muscles will retain fluid as a defense mechanism when you work them. Once they realize that the new workout is going to be NORMAL, they'll let go of the fluid. Keep working out. Muscles burn fat just by BEING. So, if you ADD a bunch of muscle weight, you'll burn MORE FAT. HOORAH!

      thanks! thats great info. i drank more water yesterday than i did any other day and i even noticed that in the evening and bedtime i wasnt going to the bathroom as much. also wasnt RUNNING to the bathroom as soon as i woke up today....lol.

        Yeah, but running to the bathroom burns calories LOL
