    Hi everyone
    I have a slight query re fitday.
    Cherry tomatoes...according to fitday 1 cherry tomato = 4 cals and 1g carbs

    According to the food label on my punnet of tomatoes 100g of tomatoes (approx 8 tomatoes) = 18 cals and 3.1g carbs

    My question is...do I go with the fitday count of 1 tomato = 1 carb or with my food label count which reckons 2 tomatoes = 1 carb ?

    The same goes for mushrooms...fitday is giving a carb total of 1g per 1 oz whereas my punnet is giving me a total of 0.4g per 3.5oz (100g)

    I'd never thought about this before...but now I'm confused about how accurate fitday is with the carb counts

    Oh there is also 1g fibre per 100g...do I deduct that from the carb amount?

    In situations like this its generally safer to go with Fitday. It could be a case of fitday "rounding up" the figures. But I think its the safest option.

    It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!




    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      I guess it is safer to go with fitday...better to over estimate the carb count than under estimate it!

      I'd really never thought about it before...I just added my food to fitday and went with whatever it said!

      I suppose I'm uber sensitive today as I fell off the wagon last night while out for a valentines day meal with hubby!

      I had it all planned but when I got the menu in front of me I wavered and instead of the steak and salad I'd planned to have I ended up with pan fried pork (GOOD) with black pudding (BAD)...I'm not entirely certain how bad black pudding is but I know it's gotta be BAD!!
      I did manage to push the chips (fries) to the side of my plate and filled my plate full of cabbage instead!

      I'm right back on the wagon today...I feel so annoyed with myself as up until last night I'd had 9 clean induction days!!

        Janet, we are both from the UK, so you can call them "chips" and I will know what you mean .

        Black pudding as you rightly say is not legal, it does have quite a lot of oats and other fillers in it. But hey, you learn from your mistakes. Things like this just make you stronger in the long run.

          Yeah I guess we learn from our mistakes...I certainly have...I felt so sluggish and tired last night, just like I used to in my high carb pre Atkins days!! I never want to feel that way again, so I'm right back on top of things today...and forever, I never realised just how good I would feel on Atkins!
