you are allowed three servings of allowed sweetener
From Chapter 18, in the Section Titled 'Go!'
13. You may use up to three packets of sucralose (Splenda®) daily. (More and more products are being made with Splenda® so if you use any, include those grams in your tally also.)
Every can or bottle of diet soda will tell you how many servings are in it as well as which sweetener they have usedI think in general 8 fluid ounces counts as one serving, so a 12 ounce can will be 1.5 servings.
But if you use sweetener in foods or other drinks (decaf coffee etc) you are still only allowed three servings so you will have to choose where to 'spend' your 3 servingsworth of allowed sweetener!
Here are the sweeteners Dr Atkins recommended
Artificial Sweeteners You must determine which artificial sweeteners agree with you, but the following are allowed: sucralose (marketed at Splenda®), saccharin, cyclamate, acesulfame-K. Natural sweeteners ending in the suffix "-ose," such as maltose, fructose, etc., should be avoided. However, certain sugar alcohols such as maltitol do not affect blood sugar and are acceptable.
and
Note that each packet of sugar substitute contains about 1 gram of carbohydrate, so don't forget to include the amount in your daily totals.
