    Re: Freaking out.

Chelle, make sure you're living on FAT! Fat is what our bodies are using as fuel, and you should be consuming 65% of your calories from fat. The percentages are 65% fat, 5% carbs, 30% protein. Now, it doesn't have to be fat from meat--personally I can't STAND greasy hamburger, or chicken skin. I add butter, or ranch dressing, or cheese to my meals to make them "balanced."

        Re: Freaking out.

First, stop talking down about yourself!! You are doing something right now that many people can't make themselves do at all. There are so many support groups on the internet because losing weight is hard...really, really hard. Sticking to a plan is hard, especially when you've eaten a certain way for such a long time. Right now, you are doing something about it and that's a WONDERFUL thing.

Okay, now let me preface this by saying that I'm not an Atkins guru as many on this board are...and what I'm about to say isn't meant to be mean, so please don't take it that way. This is your journey, so you have to do it the way that works for you BUT, I know from my own personal experience that when I had a "sorta" cheat because people all around me were eating things that I couldn't have at all....I soon rationalized just one non sugar free candy...or one spoonful of ice cream, you know what I'm talking about. Before I knew it, I was right back to my own habits. It wasn't until I realized that my addiction to food was just as real as a cocaine addicts addiction to the drug. I could no longer justify eating a diet bar or a sugar free candy just because I had enough carbs left in a day.

For the rest of our lives, we will be around people who are eating things that we have chosen not to eat anymore. You know that amazing thing is that after time, it won't even bother you anymore. It's really true, I promise.

One last thing, I don't think that your ambition is unrealistic at all! I'm quite sure that you can do anything that you put your mind too! I'm confident that one day soon you'll be able to post that you're dancing in "Chicago."
