How much weight do you need to take off? If you do not need to lose much weight it can go slower. Are you on any medications that can slow weight loss? Do you exercise? Perhaps post a few days of your meals in the "review my menu" section. How much water are you drinking? Is TOM due anytime soon? So many questions, sorry.

i need to lose 40lbs.I have been drinking plenty of water.I am not on any meds.I have been exercising. One thing i was doing is drinking coffee every morning.I stopped that today.Maybe i will see some results from that.TOM is in 8-days i did not even think of that.

i'm on day 6 also today i had a 4 maybe 5 pound loss HOWEVER I HAVE 100 TO LOSE!. I have been exercising also. I am pretty sure it's very close to my TOM. I was hoping to lose 10 in 2 weeks even if that falls short i know this is working!. I do have energy I am eating less i have to make sure i eat now: before i ate all the time. I cut out all coffee on day one. I think i should have waited to weigh thou from other post i've read it's a "no no" to weigh before the 2 weeks. Even if i don't lose another pound this next coming week AT LEAST I'VE NOT GAINED!. I will stick to this with my whole heart I have PCOS i CAN gain 4-5 in a week. I've never had energy like this.

Went totally off atkins now i'm right back where I started in 2007. 75 POUNDS were lost and gained BACK AUGH.

Did you see the PCOS board? It is here http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...splay.php?f=59

I have a friend with PCOS and she takes something called metaformin(or something like that) and it helps her to lose weight.

Edited to add that it isn't a weight loss drug. It is a drug to help control the PCOS symptoms I believe.

I know it's hard, but don't be discouraged, Atkins really works and I know it's also hard, but it's probably best not to weigh yourself until that first 2 weeks is up.
I never followed that advice either in the beginning though lol In the first 3 days I actually put on 4 lbs and I think for me, it was due to the shock of drinking so much more water, all those withdrawals from sugar, stopping the caffeine and also exercising. At the end of 2 weeks I had 17lbs gone.
It all is a new thing for your body to adjust to, so hang in there, you're doing great

Yes, hopefully Atkins and exercise alone will help greatly with the weight loss. It might just take a few weeks for your body to figure out what it needs to do. Wishing you the best.

Its time to avoid the scale and be patient with your body. Please read all the stickies at the top of this forum. Atkins is about so much more than losing weight. It is about losing negative thoughts and behaviors that are unkind and self-defeating. One of those unkind behaviors is using a scale to determine self-worth. Please stop. Love yourself enough to embrace who you are, as you are, this very moment. Stay on your Atkins journey and you will soon find that the number on the scale has no meaning at all.

Atkins is about more than healing the body - it is
                      about healing the heart.

Yes, please don't be discouraged. The weight will come off....it's just a matter of believing in the process. You have to keep believing in the process even when you don't see results immediately. It's hard sometimes....I've been tempted to just quit a million times over the past 5 months, but I'm so glad that I didn't! It will all be worth it soon!!!

thanks everyone for the incouragment.I did atkins before and did not get past the 3 or 4th day becuase i felt so horrible. This time i tuffed it out and am now on day 8.I keep telling myself it will pay off soon and it is gonna be so worth it. last time i still had cravings and could not handle it.This time i feel great no cravings they are gone.I am doing it to the book this time.I actually read the book.I made the mistake the first time not reading it and thought i could just eat everything as much as i wanted as long as it was legal. And now i know thats not true.I count and measure my food.Reading these boards is a big motivation for me.thanks again. And i have not weighed myself in a couple days.So i am proud of myself.I am goon wait a while
