Day 15 and 15lbs gone!!

  • Day 15 and 15lbs gone!!

    That's right folks, basically 1lb for every day of induction! I'm very, very happy to see the results on the scale, but what I don't understand is that I have yet to feel it in my clothing I "feel" a bit thinner, but my clothing still fits the same. I never did take measurements, I know, I'm a bad girl, but I just figured once I started seeing a drop on the scale I'd start feeling my clothing getting looser and I'd know the inches were going too. I also haven't done really any actual "exercise". Last week I spent the week tearing down wallpaper in our hallway, both walls and ceiling, and trust me that felt like exercise to me!

    Has anyone else ever experienced a drop in weight, but no change in the way clothes feel?

    Started Atkins 2/12/07 @ 214, had a successful two weeks and lost 15lbs. Then totally fell off the wagon on Day 16 Sooo.....

    Restarting 3/12/07

    Congrats on the 15 pounds, that is awesome!!!!

    I don't really have an answer to your question. But just keep in mind that our bodies are funny individual things, they all do things differently and sometimes you can't make sense of it! Big help, huh?

      Thanks zencyn! Leave it up to me to have the body that drops pounds but not inches, hehe. Oh well, I know it's bound to happen sooner or later as long as I keep up with this WOL, and I don't plan on stopping any time soon!

        Hey Congrats On Your 1lb Per Day.....you Go Girl... I Have Been On This For 7 Days Clean.. I To Have Not Felt A Differnce In Clothes...so This Leads Me To Believe I'm Not Loosing....now That You Posted This I Will Have To Get Up The Nerve To Jump On A Scale And See..... I Will Let You Know...

          I have that problem........the scale says I'm loosing......I guess in my mind I want to wake up and put on my pants and there be four inches of extra material..........
          (like the slim fast commercials)......good luck and congratulations...took me 6 weeks to lose 14 lbs

              Great job on the 15 pounds!! Excellent. Just keep going, eventually you will see your clothes loosen. At that point you be not losing pounds, but inches. One may stall but the other will keep going. Keep up the fantastic work! Great job.

                Congratulations on 15 pounds gone! I'd say the wallpapering thing counts as exercise. It sounds like plenty of work to me!

                I would highly encourage you to take your measurements now and enter them in a program like mybodycomp.com. It really helps you track your progress. It also helps determine if you get into a fake "stall"...suppose in the future you lose inches but not pounds. It would be very discouraging to only look at the scale and not be able to see it on the tape measure. For me it provides a lot of motivation to see my percent body fat steadily decreasing. In OWL it will provide valuable feedback as to which foods affect you. No need to measure every day...but it's great to measure every once in a while.

                  First off thats wonderful that you lost 15 lbs in 15 days! I'm just on day 2 here and if I see results like that I will do cartwheels lol. As for your question "Has anyone else ever experienced a drop in weight, but no change in the way clothes feel?" Yes I have, but I think that was because I was not exercising at that point. But soon enough you will start to see a difference in the way your clothing fits.

                    Thanks everyone for your nice words and advice I'm definitely going to get my measurements and use mybodycomp.com. I didn't even know about that site. My wallpaper removal project is over, now comes the painting, but I'm going to start hopping on the treadmill as well and really, really try and get some resistance training in too. I've had alot of success with resistance training in the past and looked pretty darn toned at one time...oh if only we wouldn't let ourselves slide like we do But it's never too late to fix past mistakes!
