  • Lean Cuisines and South Beach.. Induction Friendly?

I went shopping the other day and I noticed some delicious looking Lean Cuisine and South Beach TV Dinners. I looked at the total carbs and surprise they are around 8 net carbs. With things like Steak and broccoli, chicken and spinach, pork and green beens, it not a shock that these dinners are low in carbs.

the question is, are these ok while on Induction? I work about 60 hours a week and workout about 5 days a week so I don't have the time to cook the meals that I want, so these little dinners come in handy. Any other people on here had trouble stalling while eating these dinners? Thanks!

As with all processed and prepared food dishes you need to check the list of ingredients to make sure it only contains foods allowed on induction.

As long as they contain no 'no-no' ingredients I would imagine they are OK.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

The last time I read the ingredient list on those "low carb" tv dinners, they contained ingredients like high fructose corn syrup, corn starch, etc. So no, they aren't Induction friendly at all.

Many of us have busy work schedules. So we do a lot of our food preparation during the weekends, like today and tomorrow. Making extra servings of food, for example, if you are having pork chops tonight, make a few extra and refrigerator them for later in the week. Hard-boiling a dozen eggs and storing them in the refrigerator for 'quick' snacks or a quick ingredient for another dish. Cut up fresh veggies and pack them in individual servings into sandwich bags or small containers. Make a crustless quiche that can be used for your weekday breakfasts or lunches.

I had a WW meal two years ago when I first started and I remember stalling a few days later. It was terrible. It took a while to re-start. I'm a tax preparer and I work 55 hrs/week right now...It's hard to cook, raise a 1 1\2 year old AND work, but it's do-able if you really try

It doesn't take that long to grab a salad or some veggies and dip, especially if you have it all ready for the whole week. How about looking at some of the precooked meats in the store that you could quickly re-heat (caution: read ingredients list very carefully). It seems to me that this would be just as fast as a freezer meal.
