I started last week (2/28/07) with much skepticism. I read the book and read countless stories about how this diet works and have changed countless lives. Then I found Kents Youtube story, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmRaD683OXU, and that was all the inspiration that I needed.
I started last Saturday at 314.5 pounds. Yesterday I was at 303.5 and this morning I am at 301.5. I understand the logic of why this works, but I still can't believe it. Now I am a believer!
For those wondering what I am eating (question I had last week) here is a sample:
Omlettes (ham, cheese, bacon bits)
Salads with reg dressing (less carbs in reg)
Double Cheeseburgers from McDs (no buns)
Chili (if you have to go out to eat as I did on Friday night, Chili is safe. Even with beans, the carbs are still low)
Grilled Chicken
The one thing that I have done religiously is get my water in. I have a 20 oz bottle of water that I drink 3x a day. Even if it is 9pm I will just force myself to get the water down if I hadn't done so through the day.
....and another accomplishment, twice at work this week, there were free donuts, bagels, muffins for birthdays. I did not have one, I stared at them and thought about it but then I thought I will be so mad if I screw up yet another diet.
Here's hoping that this Atkins success keeps on working. I will be incorporating some exercise next week when I get below 300!
