  • Induction results; not much

Ok - i know i only had a small weight loss goal (12 lbs), but i've been strictly following the iduction period for 13 days and maybe (barely) lost about 2-3 lbs. What gives? I exercise too - run, walk, etc.) - it just doesn't make sense to me. If your body is forced to burn it's fat - after a certain period - with no or very little carbs available - why wouldn't that happen for anyone and everyone? I read all abou the whole metobolic res., but i really don't think it's possible for myself to have that with such a low weight loss necessity...

    Any input people?

PS - any good induction type snack foods? Getting a bit tired of only meat and some cheese and some salads. I've been trying to watch the calorie intake due to the 0 loss i've seen thus far and tried cutting the veggies - per Atkin's book sugg. if you don't see results. Need ideas...

    Congrats!

We can expect to lose 5-10% of the weight we need to lose during Induction. So a person with a 10 pound weight loss goal can expect to lose 1/2 to 1 pound. A person with a 100 pound weight loss goal can expect to lose 5-10 pounds. You've lost 2-3 pounds so you've done terrific.

Yah - i suppose in looking at the ratio factor - that is true. And the 'main' reason for starting this has been to help eliminate a horrible carbohydrate add. that caused major binges - especially with my PMS - and i've had very little craving at this point and feel good to know that i haven't even so much as touched any type of refined sugar (or any real sugar for that matter) in 2 weeks. This is huge progress. If i can keep it this way, i know i will eventually have success with carb/food control the way that i used to. Thanks.

      Any induction snack ideas?

I am the same way. Don't worry! May I ask what your starting weight is???

Snack ideas...I like tuna salad & cucumbers together, Deviled Eggs are easy to have around the fridge.
Also, try this website, it's Linda's Low Carb....everyone always raves about the different foods and getting out of the boring stuff:

          Re: Induction results; not much

I was 112 2 weeks ago (with daily fluctuations) - now i know this seems insig. to most people. But after 2 kids, i'd been happily maintaining a steady 100lbs for almost 2 years which was perfect for my barely 5' frame. But with increasing PMS and cycle problems the carb binges became worse and worse, not to mention a decrease in my run schedule due to related fatigue, etc. - and here i am. Was almost at 115 not long ago. For someone so petite, this is a HUGE increase for me and most unwanted. right now i linger around 108 - 110 at times, which doesn't seem much of a change, but the other pluses have made me wanting to change the eating - period. Just hope that i can for the long haul.

If I were you, I'd move to OWL phase. You'll still lose weight, and you'll learn about the types of foods that your body can have.
