  • No loss for me this week

    Hi all,

    Well after such a good start last week ( i lost 8LBS), at the end of my second week, I havent lost any more weight. Im hoping this is due to it being the TOM for me at the moment. I have followed the diet to the letter, and my clothes are starting to feel less tight, so i know the diet is working for me.

    I found Induction really easy, but im not sure if i should go onto OWL yet or do induction for another week, as i had not been counting my carbs, (my veg and salad) very strictly. I did not know how big a american cup size was, so i was just guessing when it came to my veggies and salad. I posted a question about cup size the other day and was told how big a cup size is, so i have been having a few more carbs on Induction.

    Do you think i should do another week on induction with the proper 20g's of carb a day, or just go onto OWL now?

    Hi, and welcome to ADBB!

    Since you only have 17 lbs more to lose, I encourage you to immediately move into OWL. You've obviously got a low metabolic resistance to weight loss (as described in the book), so there is no reason at all to stay on induction. Enjoy your veggies!

        I agree... make the move to OWL... you need to find you CCLL and get ready for maintenance. That can take a little time. You won't regret the move.

          I agree with the above...give yourself plenty of time to go through the rest of the phases.

          Don't worry about your scales not moving. It could be due to TOM and it could also be that little pause that many people experience at the end of Induction. Are you taking your measurements? They are another valuable indicator of your progress, and with such a low amount left to lose, may be more reliable than the scales. For the past month, I have only lost 1 pound total, but I lost 3 inches off my abs, and 3% body fat. My measurements have gone down almost weekly, even when the scales has not budged, and I actually saw it go up a pound once or twice. I use mybodycomp.com to track my progress.

            O.W.L. is the way to go, more veggies, more variety, you'll be doing fine! Don't worry about the scales not moving, they will. Obviously you are losing because you're clothes feel better. I'd give inches over pounds anyday! I can't wait till I get to 17 pounds within goal...good for you and congrats on the 8 pounds! Excellent!

              Hi all,

              Thanx for all your comments and advice. After reading all your posts i have made the decision to go onto OWL now. So will be adding extra Veggies and salad from tomorrow!

                Have you been exercising, or doing aerobics ?? if so you could possibly be building muscle, which of course weighs more than fat, and therefore, your body compisition is beginning to change, and the inches will still come off. That is the important thing ,to stay off the scale, and use your tape measure, because that scale can be discouraging . Sounds like your doing great though !!

                  Most of the exercise i have been doing is walking. I do a 2hr walk, 5 days a week, i have just started doing a workout at home. I got a DVD and exercise ball which i will do 3 times a week.
