Why do you think that yesterday was too high?? What were the percentages and what was the fiber?

      Re: my fat/carb ratio

Well I feel that the fat and calories was too high.

      I need to keep the calories down 1500. I think. don't I?
      I don't really know.
I'm not exercising regularly like I should.
      walking and that's it.
I'm a Massage Therapist so that gives me a work out but not like exercise.

I have no idea what the fiber is.
Is there a way of finding that out on Fitday?

        Re: my fat/carb ratio

        I see it on Fitday.

I had 4 grams of fiber today.
so now how do I figure if it was a good ratio or not.
I don't know how to do that.

Colleen (that's my middle name btw)

On your fitday, at the top right corner of the screen where the graph is....you should see how many calories and how many grams of fiber, fat, protein etc. It should also show you percentage of calories.

Shoot for keeping your net carbs (Total carbs - fiber = net carbs) below 20 and your percentage of fat around 65%, carbs around 5% and protein about 30% (65/5/30).

Beyond that during induction, I would not worry about calories. Eat until you are satisfied but not stuffed.

            WOW I'm close
I just noticed it on Fitday.

            it's
            72% Fat
            4% Carbs
            24% protein

            Is this ok?
Also is it good to keep the calories down too.
            I'm shooting for 1500
this is day 7 for me so I want to make sure I got it right.
            thanks
            Colleen is very Irish.
I'll tell you a story about our name...

              Re: my fat/carb ratio

During induction, if you are going to be high on any percentage, it's best to be high on your fat. Fat will help curb cravings and deepen your ketosis. But, you do want to shoot for 65%.

Don't worry about counting calories right now. Some days you will be hungry and other days not so much. Right now, only worry about satisfying your hunger. Really listen to your body, when you are satisfied, stop eating. Also make sure you are getting in plenty of water.

                Re: my fat/carb ratio

There's plenty of time in OWL to count calories if necessary...I agree with the above. Eat enough fat to satisfy you so you can really experience the joys of deep ketosis.

And what makes you think 1750 calories would be too much for you - it doesn't sound unreasonably high to me for your weight.
