That would basically be considered following the rules of induction (as layed forth in DANDR) to a T. No frankenfoods, no diet soda's, no sweetened items, ect, perfect exercise regiment, no deviation at all. That is my take on 'clean induction' at least, anyone else care to chime in?

I have a question about that one. My book says they are allowed if they are caffeine free and sweetened with Splenda. I don't drink them myself, but I know a lot of people do. I know it would have to be in moderation, but aren't they allowed?
Technically they are allowed, because you're allowed 3 sweeteners per day. But in my opinion, a clean induction should be free of sweeteners ESPECIALLY if you have a sweet tooth or have intense sugar cravings.
Thanks everyone. I'm really disappointed with no sweeteners, no Diet Rite either? Do I have to start exercising already? When you say frankenfoods, what are you referring to? Does that include such things as Johnsonville smoked sausage? I love them and they only have 3g carbs each. Thanks for replying.
Frankenfoods means things like shakes and bars that are supposedly "atkins-friendly". This also includes highly-processed or "junk" foods. You'll get the best results if you stick with whole natural foods.
I don't consider cured meats to be frankenfoods, but just watch the carb and sodium content.
You can have Diet Rite because it's sweetened with Splenda, but I wouldn't recommend having over 1 can and would only have it occasionally. I think a can is actually two servings so I would count it as 2 sweetener servings - and we're only allowed 3 servings of Splenda a day.
Yes... exercise is mandatory. You don't have to start out with anything vigorous, just do the best you can and work yourself up.
I think what they refer to as frankenfoods are things like the protein bars, shakes, etc. - any of the stuff labeled "low-carb" but still is full of sugar alcohols and chemicals and all the other junk that isn't good for us. Real food is so much better!
Check the ingredients on the sausage and if there is no sugar you should be fine. Be careful with those kinds of things though - they have nitrates and TONS of sodium.
