Hi I am on my second day of induction. So far the scale says I've lost 3 pounds. I know it's water. I feel okay so far and I was wondering if I had cheated when I ate chicken salad. I would love any ideal for snacks because I don't want to get bored like I do on most diets. I also have a 3 year old who make it hard to cook with out carbs. She is alway sharing her food with me some please any advise you can give me would help. Thanks for taking time to read my post.

    Re: help

First off.. congrats on the 3 pounds!

What was in the chicken salad? If you haven't already, make sure you read DANDR 2002 edition so you can do this properly.

These are some of the snacks I eat regularly:
hard boiled eggs, sometimes mashing up with mayo and mustard for egg salad
    tuna with mayo and lettuce
pepperoni sometimes microwaving to make them crispy like chips
cheese (be careful with your amounts)
celery with cream cheese or ranch

Now would be a good time to get your 3yr old to start healthy eating habits! If she shares with you, just make sure it's veggies or something that you can eat. If it's not.. tell her you're full or something.

    Keep up the good work!!

Thank you and i love anything with cheese and chips, so that could work. Now If you could tell me something I can eat with ice cream I would be over the moon.

You could make your own 'legal' icecream as long as you stick within the guidelines for heavy cream consumption!

Do you like rhubarb? It is one of the allowed vegetables and (though it does cook down a fair bit) one cup of raw rhubarb when cooked with some sweetener added does make a nice small dessert serving which might be good with icecream!

ooooo rhubarb! As a kid, we had some growing in our yard. I remember picking it and eating it raw like celery, only dipping it in sugar. I forgot how much I like it. I'll have to try cooking with sweetener. Yum!

                  Oh my gosh!

We grew rhubarb in the yard and I loved it raw. What a beautiful plant it is. I cook it with Splenda then while it is still warm I sprinkle a dash of cinnamon over it and add a bit of cream!!!! ohhhhhh so good. I'm 62 and its nice to talk to someone who even knows what it is. Hello, from the Calif. Delta, were rhubarb will grow-grow-grow.

                        Elizellen,

Okay, how about you making up a rhubarb muffin receipt using something to make it low carb. I don't know much about the different "flours" but I am a very willing student. GO GIRL GO!

                          Re: help

I did make a rhubarb sort of pie once which turned out good.

I stewed some rhubarb a little water and some splenda and laid it in an microwaveable dish.
Then I mixed up the microwaved flax bread recipe (click on the 'recipes' link at the top of the page) but added some vanilla flavoured DaVinci sugarfree syrup to the mix then spooned it over the top of the rhubarb to make a sort of crust.
Then microwaved it for about 5 minutes.

With some cream on top it made a great dessert.
