    Hello everyone!

I have been looking for a diet that would work for me. My weakness is that I am addicted to bread and chinese food. That is what makes this so hard for me and to top it off I do not like veggies or salads. I am a meat lover so I guess I compensate with that on this diet.

I would love to see fast results because I want to find the skinny person in me (I ate her). I gained 60 lbs after I got married and that is too much for my 5'3 self.

I lack will power. I always find a better excuse to eat food that I want instead of what is good for me. This weight gain has changed me completely. I went from an active fun person to a lazy weirdo (and I am only 22). I need to get back that person that I love to be and most of all gain back my confidence.

I hope to find people here that can be my atkins friends and we can motivate each other to reach our goals (this is what attracted me here in the first place).

I am on a mission. I started induction on Thursday and by Saturday morning I had lost 4 lbs and then I cheated.

I have not gained back the weight but I need to stay focused and on track. I want to be skinny soon. I need that energy boost this diet gives you because I can't be like this anymore.

    HELP!!!

    Re: New Hope

    Welcome Sashox!

I definitely feel your frustration and wish you the best. I think the biggest bit of advice I can give is that if you really want that success you'll have to not ignore the veggies! Many people come in here not liking them, but they are really non-negotiable to living healthy on the Atkins diet and really are the key to success. The best thing to do would be to search through the recipes forum and find more subtle ways to getting your daily vegetable requirement in by cooking them in various ways. You don't have to have a salad at all, just find a way to get those veggies down outside of salads.

Best of luck on your weight loss journey and if you need anything just give a shout!

      Re: New Hope

Welcome! I'm glad you posted because that shows that you truly want to succeed! You will find a lot of motivation here. Read/post as often as you can. It really helps!!

I agree with Jace. You really need to find some veggies that you like. I tried asparagus for the first time while doing Atkins and found that I liked it! I was shocked. lol

I lack will power. I always find a better excuse to eat food that I want instead of what is good for me.
Believe me, I understand about will power. I have such an addictive personality and I'm weak! But if I can do this, SO CAN YOU! I truly believe that. What excuses are you using to eat junk? The next time you're tempted ask yourself if that (insert food here) is REALLY worth it. Will that food help you reach your goal of being thinner and healthier? I read last night about a diabetic woman who craved candy bars. Then she asked herself.. is this candy bar really worth dying for? That hit me big time! Think about it hard before you take a bite. The cravings DO get easier. Write a list of every single possible reason you want to lose weight. Carry it with you and read it when you have a craving. Take a 'before' picture. Carry that with you too. Do what you have to do to stay strong. It does get easier and in time it will be second nature and those junk foods won't look as good to you anymore!

        Re: New Hope

Thank you all for your support. God knows I need all the support I can get. I am officially on my first day of induction. I will not fall off the wagon this time. Results are what I want and complaining about my weight will not get me anywhere.

It is time to be proactive. I am excited but I do feel like I am starving but this will soon pass. I have hope I will be successful and will have great after pictures to post because I sure have bad before pics.

I am trying to stay away from the scale not to get discouraged. I want to notice the difference in my clothes. I plan on donating all my "fat" clothes once I reach my mini-goals so that I never allow myself to inflate with food again.

At this point I am trying to figure out my time so that I can start exercising. At the moment I do feel very lazy and tired. I am sleeping alot but I know that should get better once I enter ketosis and all that energy will rev me up to shed some poundage.

Thanks again, ya'll! I will keep you posted on my progress.

Why do you feel like you are starving? If you are hungry, you should eat (acceptable foods only, of course.) In my opinion, one of the best parts of Atkins is NOT having to feel like you are starving to lose weight.

To reply to this posting....I think it's the lack of carbs. For some reason when I eat veggies or protein I don't feel full full. I do eat several times a day which is good for my metabolism but it is all a matter of adjusting.

This constant carb craving will soon cease....just a few more days.

I agree with taking the before picture and carrying it around.....but oh my gawd!! that thought is almost unbearable.

Keep you spirits up girl! I am also addicted to bread, chinesse food and mexican food. All of which has tons of carbs. My family jokes all the time that I could survive off of bread and butter. I know this diet works. My uncle was over 350 pounds and he lost 138 pounds so far and to see him go from a shy, depressed person to someone that is happy about life is so inspiring. I am on my 10th day of induction...I try not to look at the scale because I lost 7 pounds the first 7 days and for the last 3 I haven't lost anything but I feel my clothes fitting looser and I am happy. My ultimate goal is to not be the fat bride at my wedding which is scheduled for September of 2008. I am tired of people telling me that I have a pretty face. I want to have a beautiful body that I am proud of. Much luck to you...I cheering you on!
