    Re: done with induction

You might of just hit a wall, we all do at some point when dieting. Stick with it and you will get past it. Its really hard to stick with some thing if you dont see results. You had a great first week so Id just keep on trying. Maybe just give yourself another two weeks and do not weigh yourself until the end of those two weeks. That why you cant get discouraged and want to stop.

Sounds like your doing great, keep it up..

12 pounds the first week, that's wonderful. A lot of people (including me) don't lose the 2nd week or don't lose nearly as much as the first week. I'm convinced the body has to take a bit of a break and move things around before it begins to lose again.

        Re: done with induction

I lost about 8 lbs in the first week and nothing in week 2...but here I am after 6 weeks and I've lost 22lbs! I think too that the body needs a break to take stock of what's happening before continuing with the weight loss! I'm sure if you just keep going you'll start to see results again very soon...Oh and measurements are very important...the week my daughter didn't lose any lbs she lost 7 inches from all over!! Proof indeed if any were needed!

          Re: done with induction

I am done induction as well. I think I will stick to it for a little while longer. I only lost a few pounds my second week, but DANG, if I could only find my tape measure I know I've lost a lot of inches!
I'm back for good this time. Slim Summer 09 here I come!

            Re: done with induction

I lost 9 lbs altogether (8 the first week and only 1 the second) and a WHOPPING 14.5 inches total, most of them from my midsection.

I plan on extended induction for at least a few more weeks to see what happens. With the low carb recipies that are out now you can go a long time without getting bored.

              Re: done with induction

Congratulations on your Induction results...that's terrific! Don't worry about the lack of weight loss in the second week...it's typical.

If you've lost 12 pounds during Induction, then according to the charts in DANDR, you have either an average (if you're male) or low (if you're female) resistance to weight loss. I think you will still lose weight fairly rapidly during the first few weeks of OWL. I wouldn't use not losing weight this second week as a reason to stay in Induction.

Are you happy with the food choices, or are you wishing you could eat nuts, dairy, etc.? That would be a valid reason for moving to OWL. I wouldn't stay on extended Induction if I were 30 pounds from goal, but you're at 50.
