    Re: gross confession...

I do it when I cook for the kids and I want to make sure the texture is right like with noodles and stuff. I also read about a Chef that lost bakoodles of weight doing the same thing. Its hard to be the chef and not taste everything but he learned there is a difference between tasting and consuming...after he spit it out he would rinse his mouth out with water.

    You're ok! lol

Just remember that you can still absorb sugar this way - diabetics will use sugar gel that they put under their tongue when their blood sugars get too low.... It could mess up your ketosis

Can’t say I’ve tried that one, cause I know I would lose any self control. Once some thing yummy goes in my mouth it’s staying there, well its not going out of my mouth lets put it that way.

I agree with the others I’ve heard you can still absorb the sugars so be careful and you may be weak one time and end up eating it so it’s a habit I wouldnt want to form... It’s to tempting for me to even try, but sounds like a good idea in theory.

Not a good habit to develop because it's sorta what the bulemics and anorexics do. Maybe you should ask your mother to be more supportive of your weight loss effort rather than have her bring home food you cannot eat.

not exactly the same thing, but I took a couple of slices of processed turkey meat from the package in the fridge (just for a snack)... started to eat a slice when I tasted the sugar almost instantly... kept on chewing while I ran back to read the package and sure enough, 1g of sugar... ran to the toilet and spit out the turkey! My husband thought I was being crazy and too strict on myself.

i'm a pastry chef and find myself on the receiving end of finger full of sweets quite often. and then once i remember i'm on atkins, which happens pretty quickly, i spit it out, to the chagrin of my coworkers, i'm sure!!!

Yep, that would be considered a form of bulimia, be careful not to get too into habit of doing that with large amounts of food!
