  • I think I cheated unknowingly???

My DH took me to Checkers last night and I thought I would die. I ordered a cheeseburger with mustard, onion & pickle. I ditched the bun and hoped for the best. For all I know I blew it, I have been unable to find any nutritional value on their patties (I can't even find a plain hamburger patty no bun on fitday.com). I was having a hard time choking it down so I asked for a packet of mayonnaise. Their mayo has corn syrup, fructose and God knows what else in it, so I tossed it. Oh well, I will just starve till we get home the next time. It was just plain aweful, I think 50% of the patty was salt. YUK!

Is this going to mess me up???

I don't know, but if it was, it already did and it won't be too much of a setback. Refocus and consider it a lesson. I've had a few myself but I'm still progressing in the right direction.

Good job tossing the mayo with sugar. If using fitday, you have to put it in a ground beef, patty, approx size etc. Now unfortunately, a lot of fast food places use fillers in their burgers. Hardee's (Carl Jr's) most definately does in their ever popular thickburgers, so a smaller chain most likely does too.

That being said, you were out for the evening with your better half, you did the best you could with what you had!! I still say, good for you!

I wouldnt worry about it to much it wasnt a major mess up that will cost you days like ice cream or some thing would. Id just take it as a learning lesson and keep on going and forget about it.

ummm... I think you're fine. I know there have been a lot of people (myself included) who have eaten like, the mcdonald's cheeseburgers without the buns on the run and have escaped without harm... I can't imagine checkers would have more fillers than those ones!

Re: I think I cheated unknowingly???

Congratulations, it sounds like you made the best of a no-so-great food situation. Even if there were more carbs than legal, at this point the best you can do is move on and try to do better in the future.

I tried to find info for Checkers, thinking maybe I could set your mind at ease and learn about the place at the same time, and this is the best I got:

Maybe next time you could ask to go to a restaurant that does publish their nutrition data, but for now, it sounds like you did OK.

                Quoting from the site:

                April 21, 2005:
"Thank you for your interest in the nutritional value of our menu items. We are currently reviewing our nutrition information due to several recent menu changes. We do not have a set date for the release of this information. You can find general information on this topic at www.Nutrition.gov.

                Thank you,
                Checkers Drive-In Restaurants"

                Also, from Google:
Your search - nutrition site:http://www.checkers.com/ - did not match any documents.

If you think you are likely to go there again you might try phoning their head office and asking for the nutrition info.
I have done that with many food manufacturers/restaurant chains and have always got the info even if it took a few days to arrive.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
