I'm wondering about things with added sugar like sausages, ham, pepperoni, chicken bouillon, etc. I'm having little luck finding any without sugar. I did find some bacon that wasn't cured in sugar. Any brand suggestions? Thanks.

Most processed foods contain added sugars and salts, because that gives them flavor.Originally posted by MickkeyI'm wondering about things with added sugar like sausages, ham, pepperoni, chicken bouillon, etc. I'm having little luck finding any without sugar. It's okay to eat pepperoni, but I would count each serving as 1 net carb, due to the labeling laws in the US and because they also contain quite a bit of salt, which can cause water retention in some folks.
Fresh sausages typically don't contain sugar. Look for these sausages in the meat case of the market, next to the raw meats, rather than the boxes of sausage next to the bacon.
Ham....there's no way around it. They all contain sugar. If you really want to include ham into your menu, pick the one with the least amount of sugar/carbs per serving and stick to the listed serving size.
Bacon---the brand that I can immediately think of is Gwaltney black label.
