  • no sugar cravings whatsoever!

This is great, I have been following the diet as outlined, and I don't even want to THINK about something sweet. Today is Doctor's Day and there is a whole table set up in our breakroom with nothing but cookies, and cake and I am sipping my water thinking "Not too appetizing...." yay for me! LOL

    Good for you!

Why would your breakroom have Doctor's Day stuff? When I worked in the hospital, they used to set all that carbage up in the Doctor's Lounge.....

I'm not in a hospital not2late, just a small office so we set it up for them in our kitchen/breakroom area.

Ahhh...all we're doing today for our Docs is a pot-luck lunch. I guess I'm lucky because everyone in our office is a low carber.

Lucky you! It's a daily struggle in this office, I am surrounded by skinny women that can seemingly eat whatever they want. At least once a month we have some sort of occasion where "party food" is involved and tempation is everywhere! LOL I did manage to bring some chicken wings for myself today, so all is not lost.

Sounds almost as bad as the teacher's lounge, a notorious carb-infested place! Every single day I go in there, it seems somebody else has brought some sort of cookies or pastry or candy. Luckily that stuff doesn't even look like real food to me anymore, and even the SMELL of it gives me a sugar headache!

It *does* get easier to ignore the carbs as time goes on!

Oh the worst is Christmas...I work at a primary care office, so all the specialists send boxes and boxes and boxes of candy, chocolates, cookies, brownies. One bright spot in this is a group of cardiologists---they send a Harry and David fruit basket.

I know exactly what you mean! Christmas is the worst for that sort of thing. I work in OB-GYN so we have patient that send treats too, plus the drug rep lunches with the yummy desserts.... eeek I usually bring my own food and they look at me wierd.

The drug rep lunches can be doable sometimes, because they usually call and ask what everyone would like. Next time, ask the rep to bring something low carb.

I hope so because some days they are doing their best to lure me back! It's Day 23 though and I intend to be able to celebrate 100 clean days on June 15th.

I agree with Juli. You can do it. When I began Atkins, I couldn't even walk past a the potato display at the supermarket without getting a hankering for potatoes. Even the bread aisle was torture---and I'm not a bread person!

But one day I was in the supermarket, and they just put out their freshly baked french bread. The bread smell wafted over to me and.....nothing. Not a single stomach growl, not a single thought of "Get bread. Get bread now!", nothing. It was an eye opening experience!
