  • Help! I am so hungry...

I am on the third day and so far I ate this today.

    - Omlett (1 egg) with 1 filet of salmon fried in butter. 1 cup Ruccola with it.
    - 3 thin slices red meat with bacon wrapt in it & 2 tsp onions fried in butter, 4 tbsp heavy cream on it and 1 cup broccoli.

It was delicious BUT I am still so hungry... Feel like I could eat it one more time What can I do? May I eat it one more time if I take away the broccoli and the onions? What about the amount of cream? I feel like I am missing the carbs (like noodles or potatos) that my family had with it, as they fill your stomach so well... I am not really craving it in a way that my bloodsocker is low, it is more this empty feeling in my stomach!

Pls help, I am so new on this and don't want to fall of the wagon.

    Thanx a lot.

If you are hungry EAT!!! Just make sure you eat legal foods. In a few weeks your body will adjust to this new WOE and you'll find you have to force yourself to eat.

Re: Help! I am so hungry...

Thanx for the support! I had some cheese as a snack but I guess I will try it with an omlett as suggested.

I do have an Atkins bar at home, in case I am getting in trouble. Even if it is not supposed to be eaten at phase one, it would be better than having something else, wouldn't it? And I have to admit that I am running around it like a cat at the moment. But I won't eat it, I won't cheat!

If you can do it, I can do it! Now my omlett is waiting...

Don't eat the bar! It's got so much junk in it!

Eat some more eggs, eat some veggies and dip, eat some pepperoni, eat anything legal. If you are hungry, eat something high-fat.

Stargirl, I have always found meat very filling. Have a nice big steak, or big piece of fish. Chicken! pork chops!
Don't let yourself get hungry, not during induction. Now is the time to get rid of sugar/carb cravings and detox, not worry so much about how much you are eating, although you won't want to gorge yourself.
Steak is so easy to cook, I ate a lot of it during induction.

Have you thought about just putting more in your omelet? I think probably one of the worst things ever when you are revenous is a wimpy omelet, which is why I order them "double everything" (albeit with no meat because I might have bacon or sausage on the side).

Re: Help! I am so hungry...

I'm having the very same issue! I read that you should eat when your hungry, so I made up a mess of boiled eggs, some tuna salad and chicken salad with only mayo, a bit of onion, boiled egg, and some pickle relish that's no carb. I've been grazing like a big ol' COW . I love it, I can still feel my belly drawing smaller, and I've lost three pounds since last thursday WOOHOO....Go ahead and EAT my induction brothers and sisters...if it's approved for induction....as dear old Al Yankovic will tell ya JUST EAT IT ...LOL. i only eat till I'm satisfied, but if I'm hungry again in 20 miutes...then I munch just a tad more. HMMMM.....a steak sure sounds tasty right now......Be back in a little bit....LOL

by the WAY....the Mock Danish is AWESOME!!!!

Definitely eat if you're hungry! But... make sure it's real hunger, not just a yen. If you do that and keep your carbs down, you'll be fine.

Hey.... just eat... but make sure you're eating the right foods.

Also.... if you're REALLY craving carbs (which can happen before day 4)
then have some tea...... both green and mint tea really work out well for me.

                      Also.... sparkling water RULES!!!

Sometimes when you think you are hungry you are really thirsty. Make sure you drink your fair share of water and wait a few to guage the situation.

Re: Help! I am so hungry...

Just wanna thank you all! You are an inspiration to me and I wouldn't know what to do without you folks... Of course you can read the book, you can read on the net but it never beats to "talk" to someone who's in the same shoes. Especially concidering the fact that almost everyone around me is against Atkins, this makes me feel like I have no one to talk to.

My husband is supportiv in a way that he loves meat (like almost every men...) and thinks it is cool to have meat with sallad as a dish. He is cool about me making a diet and he is definately supporting me doing sports even though this takes a lot of time. He gives me that space by taking care of our child, playing with her, reading, doing homework and all this stuff. Even though he thinks that I am just fine and beautiful the way I am, he is helping me and actually he was hiding sweets once when I was this close eating them.
Helpful, but in a way I felt like this:

But as he isn't on Atkins of course he is eating LOTS of carbs. Actually he admits that he is on a sugar rollar coaster. He's joking "sugar was my first drug" and having a big piece of cake or something. I don't want to talk him into a diet, so I wait until he shows interest in Atkins.

I love you for giving me all this support, your knowledge and your thoughts. I love the way I feel once the sugar cravings have disapeared. I am full of energy, cleaning and redecorating the whole flat, running for two hours and feeling like a young puppy. It is the best and I am determined to stick to it!

                          Keep it going Atkins people!

                          Sorry for the english...

you may want to try having a bigger breakfast too-
I am on day 3 of induction and I have 2-3 eggs at breakfast either poached, omlette with a bit of veg and cheese or with scrambled with cheese. I have 2-3 pieces of bacon (or just the eggs) with that and I am full for 3 hours at least! Lots of water- lunch I have salad and meat
dinner is meat and salad or meat and other veg.

My friend is on atkins second time around and basically says that with induction -
basically you have eggs and meat for breakfast, salad and meat for lunch and meat and veg/salad or salad for dinner. snack on cheese or pepperoni ( I get turkey pep from costco) do this until you can't stand it- she lasted 2 1/2 months on induction eating this way...space your veg up through the day- that way you have full rounded meals- I have actually stopped having veg with breakfast- today I added a few grape tomatoes...if you have eaten a lot and are still hungry drink your water! i also find that the psyllium husk fiber supplement I have keeps me full too- I take it either after breakfast or mid day. Hope this helps...

A great tuna salad is: 1 can tuna, 1 small celery stock cut up, a med piece of red or yellow pepper cut up, mayo, dijon mustard and pepper!

Remember that you don't have to add much veg to things in order to space out the servings-
