  • So Weak! Help!!!!!

    Hey everyone!

I am on day 6 and I woke up this morning SO WEAK! I have been drinking my water, eating enough fats...I just dont know what to do. I cut out all caffine and all sugar from my diet, which is HUGE. I usually drink about a pot of coffee a day. I have 3 small children and I'm going to school full time.

so.... getting back to today. I slept in til 10, which I cant do, because my 6 year old was in charge and now every time I sit down, I fall asleep.

What is going on here???? Any suggestions????

You might be losing to fast and your body cant handle it. I think its suggested to up your carb intake a bit when some thing like this happens. I hope your feeling better soon.

Are you taking your supplements and exercising? I know for myself, once I started exercising...I felt healthier and more alive. I always associated exercise with making me more tired...but as I developed a routine, I found it increased my energy level.

This could also be a reaction to the withdrawl of sugar and caffeine from your previous way of eating. The body is rebelling against the removal of these foods. Dr. Atkins states in the Induction Phase chapter that this is a good thing. Once your body quits craving the foods you've been addicted to, you'll find an increase in energy.

It sounds like you have a lot going on in your life, maybe you just overdid it the first few days and now its catching up with you. Did you have energy the first five days you've been doing the program?

        Re: So Weak! Help!!!!!

I was really weak as well for the first week or so. My arms and legs had no strength in them at all. Washing my hair in the shower was a painful experience just because it was hard and really hurt to hold my arms up for that amount of time. Walking up the stairs made my legs feel like jelly...we have a 2 storey house so we don't have that many stairs but still it was tough.

It got better and while they still feel slightly weak they are so much better than they were. Hang in there! I'm on day 13 today.

Definately make sure that you're getting all the carbs that you're allowed - cheating yourself of the veggies really doesn't help you lose weight that much faster. The fiber, vitamins and carbs from the veggies offer great benefits, as well.

The exhaustion is also part of the induction flu. Good news is that you're heading in the right direction! When you feel especially tired, or frustrated, just remind your self that this, too will pass.... and you're DEFINATELY on your way to a better future!!

          Good luck!

            Re: So Weak! Help!!!!!

I had delayed induction flu...the 1st week was a breeze and the 2nd week I was feeling crappy and just trying to keep plugging my way thru. I would suggest to eat small meals in between to keep your body fueled...spread out your carbs instead of having them just at meal times. Boil eggs for an easy grab snack and what I love is the Hormel Beef sticks which are 0 too.

If you were drinking that much coffee in a day and then suddenly quit it all cold turkey your body is going thru some major withdrawals. I could never do that and I use to drink a lot too, I decided instead quitting it and facing the withdrawals I would rather wean myself down. Instead of making a full pot I make just enough for my mug approx. 2 cups lol That is it...after that I begin my water and have my breakfast.

I hope you feel better...it will get better but you have to get thru the tough time first.

            Hugs, Mel

Thanks everyone for your responses! I am feeling a little better today... I still feel sleepy. But, i had enough energy to clean the house a little. I REALLY want to lose this weight and I am willing to do anything for it. I have had three kids in 6 years and I am ready to be a woman again...lol!

              Thanks Again!
