  • Week 2 Done~

Well, I got thru it without binging. I am an emotional eater and having my cat die on Wed. I really felt the urge to buy a bag of chocolate. I held out though...this week was soo stressful. Thursday my bp was high and now I am on a BP med for that because I have a condition that puts my aorta at risk of enlarging and if I don't get the bp under control it could mean bigger issues with my already enlarged aorta. Losing weight may or may not help this issue...time will tell. So I started to 2 new meds this week and my WL has been stuck give or take the same 4 oz. I was feeling discouraged yesterday BIG TIME.

I weighed today and was relieved to see that I had a lil WHOOSH and I dropped an extra 1.4lbs for a total of 9.4lbs for Induction.

Now I am trying to decide...Stay on Induction as planned until I get to 200lbs (another 12 lbs) or just move to the next rung. I am leaning towards Extended but I am SOO craving fruit. lol

I am just glad to have gotten thru these past 2 wks and I thank the board for the support. It was empowering to know I wasn't alone every step of the way.

    Hugs, Mel

    Congratulations on your loss
Dont forget you can have pumpkin and rhubarb on induction (on the one-cup list) or move on to the first OWL rung (veggies) and add 5 net carbs of either of them to your regular 3 cups of other veggies!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

First.. sorry about your cat, MissMel.

And congrats on your loss! I'd suggest moving to the veggie rung. It's exactly like induction with just 5 net carbs more of veggies, and like Elizellen said you can have pumpkin and rhubarb and make some great desserts.

      Keep it up!

Congratulations on finishing Induction MissMel - Good for you! Excellent job. OWL is fun and delicious too! Don't be afraid, it's really awesome. Another cup of veggies, have you tried the Jicama or Rutabaga?? Just keep adding new veggies, don't jump through the rungs so quick.....that caused me problems earlier, and now it's like....what's the race?? I've got a lifetime!! That way you can test the waters so to speak with your medications. Pumkin is yummy!! Hmmm Rhubarb.....gotta try it! Best of luck and congrats again on induction and your weight loss. You're doing great!

            Good Job!
