  • One week in, on my way to getting thin!!!

    Good morning all,

Well week one is in the books. While I haven't followed atkins 100% (more like (95%), I've had what I like to think are stellar results. I started a week ago at 220, and now i'm at 209.5 as of this morning.
The only thing I haven't done by the book is add two pieces of sugar free chocolate to my daily menu. Keep in mind, I love sweets and would always get 3 chocolate chip cookies from subway (along with my sandwich), a candy bar a day from the vending machine, and then ice cream on my way home from work. So to me, this is a big step to eliminate all of those sweets. Once I hit 200, I am promising myself to cut the SF candy to every other day, then every 3rd day, and so on, until I ween myself off completely.
I would like to thank all of YOU that post on this board. You are all an inspiration and help me dedicate myself to seeing this diet thru. Thank you all for your continuous support, and I all wish you the best in obtaining your goals. While this is indeed a challenge, seeing results makes this fun.

    Peace and love!

Sweet........ if it's working for you its probably just something you need to keep an eye on.

I did an extended induction for about 1 month but added a latte... it worked for me but YMMV

.... if you stall you should ditch the chocolate though.

If it works for you, then great! Just realize that if you stall, that may be the culprit. Congratulations on your weight loss so far!

You might not have any problem weaning yourself off the more weight you lose. You'll see how healthy you're getting and the benefits will outweigh eating the candy, you know? Plus, as you eat less and less, you might find other foods that seem sweet and more desirable. Does this make sense?

As it is, you have made major progress! I wish you continued success!

By the way, welcome to the board!

Oh.... and another note on stalls..... I've cheated before only to find that after a few weeks I will stall (this is on extended induction). Since you only have one week to go I wouldn't risk it and just get rid of the chocolate.

One major point of atkins is teaching yourself to control sugar addictions..

Which I admit I haven't totally solved myself

Re: One week in, on my way to getting thin!!!

Thanks guys for the tips...I'm at work today and I didn't pack one piece of chocolate. I'm going to ween myself off starting today. I already feel much better being on this diet. Just putting on my jeans was a lot easier. I didn't half to suck in then button!! Instead of my tight 36" its a normal fitting 36" right now...I can't wait to fit in some 34"'s...that will be great!! thanks for the advice and support everyone. Each comment and suggestion you have, is taken to heart, and I do my best to apply them.

Much continued success to all of you! Have a great weekend!

              Keep up the good work!

Congratulations on deciding to drop the choc too
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Great job! Don't forget to change your siggie from the "tight 36" to a plain 36!
