  • Im new and want to eat!

Hey guys I just started Saturday and am on day three. The only thing i have noticed is I want to eat a lot. I have been eating my serving of greens while eating beef like hamburger patties and chicken and butter/ olive oil with lots of water. Should I be afraid to keep eating if I’m hungry, even after all these high calorie foods? 2000 calories does not seem at all that hard to reach with my current appetite on this diet.

When I weighed in this morning I’m down about 3 – 4 lbs but at this point I think it is mostly water weight. So the next few days will be interesting.

    Thanks

    Alex

When you want to eat A LOT, it's your metabolism kicking in. I was like that the first week, too. Once your body gets used to this way of eating, you wont feel hungry anymore. I actually have to remind myself to eat now. I never thought in a million years that would happen.

Don't be afraid to eat. Just make sure you're not feeding your mind and appetite instead of your hunger. After a few days or a week you should notice a decrease in appetite.

I still have days where I can't seem to stop eating...the good thing is, if you pick the right foods you should be good!

        Thanks for the input guys

At 26 years/6 foot/210 lbs/male the calorie intake i have calculated is about 2800. Should i kick it down to the standard 2000 which most diets are based off of?

Dont choose your food intake according to calories - concentrate on keeping your carbs under the 20 net carb mark and eating off the allowed list!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Yes... it gets easier and easier as you go along! I started out never thinking I'd make this a permanent lifestyle change... but that's what happened, it got so easy and pleasant!
All you have to do is eat the right foods, eat to satisfy your hunger only (no more and no less) and drink masses. Well... and do some exercise too, of course.
              You'll be fine!

It's really hard to understand about eating this way friend. You've probably done other 'diets' where you have to watch everything. Here you just keep your eye on that 20 carb ball and you'll be fine, just like Elizellen said.

This isn't a 'diet', it's a way of life. You're making the committment to your body to eat this way the rest of you life. I was pretty much in your same boat, then all of a sudden one day, I was cooking 2 1/3 pound burgers like I always did, but pushing the second one away....it will happen. One day your appetite just kind of fizzles.

                That's a good thing!

Re: Im new and want to eat!

What ive found is after one week...im really hungry at breakfast now (never used to be)..and even after eating a 2-3 egg veggie/cheese omelet..i still feel hungry...or maybe just not fully satiated. I dont know if thats my body or my brain thats thinkin somethins missing. I try to just hold off a couple of hours until i can have a snack...or wait for lunch. But the rest of the day, i am more easily satisfied. WHich is great, cuz i used to really have the nighttime munchies.
So is it normal to still feel hungry after eating a healthy portion? Should I eat more protein/fat...or accept that im not stuffed...and get into the mode of portion control?

In my opinion, during Induction you should not be hungry. If you are, eat something fatty. Add some bacon or sausage to your breakfast, celery and cream cheese, or whatever your preference is. If you have to "try to hold off" that sounds like true hunger to me.

Don't go hungry...but don't stuff. The difficulty for many (including me) is knowing when that is. Takes some training, but it does get clearer with practice.
