  • I caved!! Help!

So last night I caved and ate 3 pieces of pizza and had a can of coke!! I'm a hockey fan and was watching the playoffs and I gave in! What do I do now? Do I start over? I was on my third day of a clean induction and I failed, I've even lost 5 lbs. already!!! Help!

Yep just continue on! you'll prolly find after 14 days that youlll want to continue for a while longer anyway...

the thing that always makes me stick to this WOE is, if i cheat once, thats me out of ketosis, and its gonna take me 5 days to catch up on that ONE cheat... its not really worth it is it?

Exactly my thoughts on it. Peeing on a stupid stick has pushed me everyday. And if I go off, I'll be banging my head on a wall with guilt for 5 days or more. So not worth it.

That off shade of purple means a lot to me.

But I wouldn't weigh myself (you probably gained some or all back) and learn what not to do the next time.

Pat yourself on the back for not eating six pieces of pizza and drinking four cans of coke. Then prepare next time by eating a filling supper before the game, and have a small meat and cheese tray with water ready for the game itself!

Like the others said, just add a few days of induction. Many of us continue induction beyond the 14 days anyway. You just might, too. You'll be ok! Carry on!

                You gotten excellent advise.

You might want to sit down today and think about why you ate the 3 pieces of pizza---did you skip lunch and were hungry? where you stressed out? did some jerk cut you off on the interstate and you were shaken up and upset?

Sit down, think what happened, then develop strategies to cope the next time you find yourself in a similar situation.

Sorry that you caved, cauz I know the second it's all down and we realize what we have done, it really was not worth it....or it wasn't to me anyway....I changed my whole way of thinking my second go around.....and it's helped....believe me I've been in many tempting situations....but it's just NOT AN OPTION....start making yourself believe that!!
                    Hang in there!

                      LOL!!
tmn, I'm lucky to just be cut off! I live in a rural area that is quickly being developed into an 'outlying suburb'. Anyhow we have many 2 lane, winding country roads here. On some days I'm lucky to get home alive due to all of the newbies here who don't know how to drive on these roads...practically run me off the road sometimes!

Chug on ,drink plenty of water and pick up where you left off.Next time be prepared with legal snack food . Beef Jerky (homemade) ,or chicken wings will keep you busy while cheering for your team.

                          Re: I caved!! Help!

                          Most definately buddy, push on.

They are all right, whilst not only thinking about what made you decide to 'cheat' (I hate that word.....) let's say 'sneak' nevermind.......think about what made you decide to go off plan....

                          a) was it the ease of a quick snack?
                          b) craving pizza & a coke
                          c) watching hockey (tradition) always ate while watching
                          d) with buddy's and felt the need to eat like they were

see what I'm getting at dude. Sometimes eating this way screams the need for planning! Dude, I have to go to Papa Johns for my family on Friday nights, sit there while they make pizza's, drive home with the car smelling of pizza, and watch my family eat it. Now...that being said, the first couple times, that practically 'killed me'. haha.

but I decided to 'plan' better. Now I cook recipes that have the 'pizza' taste without crust (which I can add later as I make it back up the rungs - experiment so to speak) and I'm satisfied. It makes no more thought of even wanting that pizza because I have my own food. Does it smell good.....(not going to lie haha I still love it) but I made the decision and comittment to live this way and I know that kind of food does not agree with me.

Make wings, (maybe your buddy's would chip in) and do a great big pan of them. I bought these (KFC Style) buckets from the dollar store. Superbowl came, I made a bunch of atkins friendly wings, and filled the bucket with them. We all ate from the bucket, while my friends had other 'carby' snacks, but I 'planned' to make it worthwhile.

So anyway, don't beat yourself up, just try to think things out better for next time like Megs said! She is the best you know!!! (she gives great advice - listen to her!!)

                          Best of wishes
