  • Help!!! What Am I Doing Wrong

    Ok so I started the Atkins again last week on Friday I was doing really well, but than came Easter and I cheated . So then Monday I started fresh with a clean Induction was even in Ketosis by Tuesday. Today I got on the scale and I gained 4 pounds!!!! How does this happen I mean I have been doing everything right and I am gaining. I know that it has not been long but how do you gain weight in Ketosis. I posted my menu and people said it was ok so I dont know where I went wrong. This is my 3rd time with Atkins last year I lost 55 pounds in 3 months. Now i can't lose an ounce. Maybe I can't do this diet anymore What do you think??

    Same thing happend to me and it was all water, when you cheat it takes a bit longer for your body to get back into it and let go. Stick with it and keep away from the scales for awhile and also measure yourself you could be losing inches and not lbs which I think is better anyway.. A number is a number, but inches = looking great.

    Dont give up, your body is aware of what you are doing and hanging onto water right now. Well that is what I find mine does when I cheat... So just work through it and you will do great...

      Don't worry, give it some more time and the pounds and/or inches will drop and don't forget to exercise!!!

        Hold on that was the pic of you in January?? and now? you look amazing even thinner in the face now then in 04. You look great


        So how long did it take for you to start losing weight? Cause this is enough to make me say why bother.And I shouldn't feel that way but i do

          Thank you so much for your kind words. Yep that was me in Jan of this year at my daugthers 1st birthday and me now. I was 186 then and 168 now.

          I go through stages where I will lose then hold and Im like you at times as in WHY BOTHER, but I just get my self in a state of mind of OK I did this to myself so its some thing I have to do for me and no one else to blame time to get it together and just suck it up and do it. Im not hard on myself but I dont cop out either type of thing. I started Atkins a few weeks ago now and Ive only lost 7 lbs on the scale and Im up and down too. But Ive lost inches and my clothes are fitting much loser and you can see it in my face big time. So that is what keeps me going..

          Hang in there its really worth it your a beautiful girl and you will see results soon too. Trust me Im just like you and had the same issues... Its hard and even just a "little" cheat sets you back a bit. Im finding it hard to stick with it too right now but Ive been getting so many people saying they notice my weight lose so Im trying harder... We can do this and be hot sexy chickys in no time..

            Isnt it funny how u can be perfectly happy..and then u get on the scale and if u dont like what u see the rest of your day is ruined. Evil evil scale! lol

              LOL that is so true I was like Yes ATKINS Eggs salad brocoli cheese steak chicken yum yum I can do this lol. then i jump on the scale and I was like screw this and i was done. But now after reading the posts I am gonna stick with it and give a week or so. I mean it has worked before and i see all the people on this board who look soooo good. I mean I dont wanna be a size 0 or anywhere close I just want to be able to look in the mirror and be happy with what I see.

                I have to agree with everyone else. You most likely retaining water, perhaps too much salt/spices in the diet.
                My husband is doing the atkins with me and he has done the diet several times. I lost weight in the beginning faster than he did, but now he has passed me. lol He told me his body had gotten used to the start-stopping, so he had a little resistance.

                I give it a true month before quiting. Summer is almost here!

                  If I were you, I wouldn't pay attention to these everyday fluxes. Weigh yourself once a week at most and take some long walks in the time you'd otherwise be worrying. It'll get you a lot further in the long run, and help take away some of the stress of beginning a diet.

                    Thank you guys I feel alot better today still no weight loss but I feel lighter lol does that make sense?? I am so proud I have not cheated, usually by now I would have had something, just a bite but not yet I am having alot of cravings though hope these go away
