  • 2 Years Later

Hi. I am back desiring to loose another another 60 pounds. I have already lost 73 pounds. This time, I would like to follow the amount of vegetables because before I would just eat them. Any suggestions on how I can be successful again after 2 years?

I plan to start on Saturday. I already have plans to go to dinner with my family for my mom's b-day.

    Motivation
I have noticed that my son is picking up my habits and I don't want him to be on this board in 10 years. I want to be an example.

Has anyone tried this with only eating chicken / fish up to 2 times a week? I would love to cut out all meats.

If you cut out all meats, then you'll probably be more closely aligned to a all veggie diet and instead of the atkin's you should look at vegan websites (i find vegatarian diets too loose for people trying to loose weight). You'll loose weight either on a strict atkins or vegan diet either way, although slower on a vegan diet. I lost 20 kilo's in 6 months doing a purely vegan diet and after going off it, I haven't really gained anything back. All I did was not eating meat, cheese or any dairy and also severly limited my simple carbs. I also gave a cheat day of one meal a week.

Either way if you do a veggie diet and want to loose weight you have to avoid all the sugary and refined flour products or you'll get fat. If you really focus on avoiding all meat products then your choices become fairly limited in a prepared meal sense. A lot of prepared foods have hidden meat products in them so I also avoided prepared foods.

I basically ate steamed veggies for lunch or an all veggie stew/chili for lunch and made lots of curries with no rice. I especially like tofu or bean curry, avocado and tomato with vinegar/oil dressing.. etc.. There is also a great product call TVP which is a soy based texturized protein product that goes well with stews that is kind of a fake meat. tastes great in chili..
