  • Carrots?

    I seem to not be able to remember if carrots are allowed on Induction and as I was packing lunch this morning I noticed the bag said 9 carbs for 3 oz.! There were 2 grams of Fiber and the net carbs of the carrots are 7. So as I'm looking through the acceptable list I don't see them. LOL. Obvisously this sounds like a rhetorical question....but I'm grapsing for hope that possibly I just didn't see them on the list b/c I didn't look good enough. (even though ctrl+f couldn't find it either :-(

    Help wanted please. Also, what's the best thing to do if you have cheated and I'm saying that in regards to cheating inadvertenly as I assume I have done with the baby carrots. I know not to do it again and just move on, but I read somewhere about upping the intake of your water to flush out your system. Just wanted your thoughts.

    Carrots are a starchy veggie and not allowed until Rung 8 of OWL.

    Keep drinking your water, stack on track with induction foods, and ignore the carrots until the proper time during OWL.

    Remember, ask questions first, EAT later!

      Hi Gemini,

      Unfortunately carrots are on rung 8 - starchy vegetables.

      Don't worry about having eaten them - just carry on as you were. I have heard that drinking water helps deal with a cheat, but I'm not entirely certain.

        I would call your little mishap a "mistake" not a "cheat"...two completely different meanings. But it would be good to evaluate whether or not you are still in ketosis so you know how carrots affect you when you reach Rung 8.

          Thank you for the advice you guys. Glad to know that; I had no idea...Rung 8, wow! And to thank that I don't even care that much for carrots, lol. Well sounds good, I'll keep drinking my water and staying on track. Off to the gym!
