  • 6.5 hours to OFFICIAL START!

    As of 12:01am April 25th, 2007 - it is ALL OVER between me and carbs! And not only carbs, but my two worst addictions. Chocolate and coke zero. I will no longer make excuses for myself. I want this. I will NOT lend myself to that which I wish to be free from.
    First started 04/13/04: 214-172 goal 135
    New start 04/25/07: 194-___ goal still 135

      lol you sound like me.
      You will do fine. Just have confidence and will power. After a few days, your sugar craving stops, and you might find that you have to force yourself to eat.

      Check out the recipe board, they have a lot great ideas. Just cause u are living the atkins way, doesnt mean you wont eat well. Goodluck!!!

        You can do it!! I have said this here before but I am a total dessert addict. I would eat dessert after every lunch and every dinner. Not just a cookie, but like FIVE big cookies and then after dinner I'd have like an ice cream cone or brownie sundae. Some days I would totally skip meals and have cookies for my meal. Really bad. I had to do the first week cold turkey, no desserts whatsoever and that REALLY helped - I can control myself already and it's a great feeling.

          You can do it! And there are some great atkins-friendly dessert recipes - even during induction! You won't be deprived, I promise. I was a chocolate, bread, and diet coke junkie for ten years. I've been on induction for 9 days and my cravings for those things are gone!!!

            You will be o.k. Let me tell you,If I can do it almost anyone can. I was like skinnymom,desserts were my world!! I would have dinner and have a huge bowl of ice cream waiting in the freezer for me. Some times I'd just grab the carton. I work in food and they make wonderful homemade desserts everyday!! I used to be the taste tester and my excuse was "we can send it if we wouldn't eat it". And that is the policy,if it doesn't taste good to us,why would we expect others to think it tasted good. I started April 16th and so far no cheats. It's hard and don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise. But I can tell you that there is no other feeling than the one where you say no several times and you think"O.K. I said no,maybe I can do this." And then you step on the scale and see it's a few pounds less! There is no other feeling like it! Even if you only lose a few ounces,hey,tha's losing. Keep it up. We're here for you! You'll soon see that everyone here is wonderful!!!

              Aww, you guys are awesome. I only wish I had read these sooner! I'm so disappointed in myself right now, I failed already big time. My first day was nearly impossible to get through. My mean supervisor didn't let me take a break till about 4 hours past lunch, things were going kind of rough, so what's the first thing I do? Go to wendys and order the combo - with fries. Ate the bun too. Hated myself for it immediately after but I was SOO hungry! So I decided to start fresh today. I did well, until just a minute ago, when I went and bought a chocolate bar. And not even with good reason. I assume it's just out of habit. It's not gone yet though. YAY! A step in the right direction! I threw it away. HA! TAKE THAT CHOCOLATE! That felt good. Now to get back on track. I will be checking back more often to stay in the mindset I need to be in. I'm tired of looking like this. Thanks Again all of you!
