Started induction on Thursday. Felt really bad Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Have had a toothache which doesn't help. I haven't cheated at all but it's been tough. After home Bible study on Sunday we went to friends to eat. They cooked hotdogs on the grill. I cooked some ground beef with sauteed mushrooms. All good. They broke out the Oreos and then made homemade milkshakes. Put my will power to the test. I'm a certified (should say I was) junk food junkie. I love sweets. Tonight we went to Logan's for my buddy's birthday. I order grilled salmon, salad and mushrooms. All's good except food took forever and service wasn't great. They gave everyone free desserts for the trouble. Tough watching everyone chow down on cheesecake and brownies covered in ice cream but I made it. Not to mention not eating any of the rolls. I think I've been faced with the toughest scenarios I'm likely to face right off the bat and handled them well. Wish me luck. I was down to 253 at gym Monday from 256. I'll see what I'm at in the morning. I know weighing should be kept to weekly put I've always weighed myself every time I go to gym.

Re: Rough week
Congratulations Scott. Its rough at first. Been there, done that. But the good news is that it gets easier. One thing I always do is take 'back up' food with me where ever I go. Even if its a piece of string cheese or some flaxseed muffins or anything that will get you through without feeling deprived. If you are prepared, its a lot easier. When I go to our Senior Birthday party celebrations, I always take a snack for me so when they are eating their cake/ice cream...I can enjoy my snack and not feel left out.

Re: Rough week
Was down to 249 on Friday mornings weigh-in. I can really tell I've lost some pounds this weekend as well. Excited to weigh on Monday. It's getting easier to eat right as I go along. Not very hungry and the cravings have past. 7 pounds down and 34 more to go.

Re: Rough week
Scott that's great news! And it gets easier and easier.
Becky's right... always go prepared... everywhere. If you have something legal to munch, that you like, you'll find it really helps stop you feeling deprived.

Re: Rough week
I just wanted to second what everyone else has been saying...
Good job on resisting the junk! And it will get easier... those desserts and carb loaded goodies will continue to look less appealing once the cravings stop and you see the lbs going away! To me, the loss is my biggest motivation. One banana split is not gonna make me feel better than a loss!
Congrats on the lbs lost so far! Keep up the good work!
