  • Eggs

    Hello all,
So I am a little confused about eating eggs. In the book it says we can eat them liberally but some people on here say to watch out. Whats the deal?

    Re: Eggs

I think it is because that eggs still have carbs in them that you need to count and if you overdo it on eggs, that does not leave much room to get all your 12-15 grams of veggies in during induction. Each large egg has .6 carbs and extra large eggs are .7 Say, you had an cheese omelet for breakfast with three xl eggs and 1 ounce of cheese, there is over 3 carbs gone right there. They can add up fast!

I say better to be full than go hungry. If you are hungry and want more eggs, eat eggs. They are a healthy choice. But honestly, even given permission to have all the eggs you want, how many can you really eat? I sincerely doubt this will ever be a danger food for you so why worry about it?..

Yes, eggs are probably one of nature's most perfect foods. Especially for our WOE. Don't be afraid of them. Just count the carbs. I'd rather have 1g carb from eggs than from most other sources.

I agree Elisa, I keep hard boiled eggs for a quick snack too. They are not just for breakfast, you can make quick quiche too...with all kinds of stuff in it, I add veggies to mine for higher carbs...I know your in induction, but if you add broccoli or mushrooms your spreading out your veggie carbs through out the meals and not just one meal.

Eggs are the greatest!! So much you can do with them!!

If I'm having a very bad crave, say (hmmmm chocolate.....haha - I remembered this from your other post....) I pop a hard boiled egg and a big ol glass of water, crave subsided.....

Best of luck! Remember, this really isn't hard, it's basic simple stuff once you have those rules in mind.....I know you can do it, we have faith in you!!
