  • Back again-Take Two

    Some of you may have read my postings from a month ago. My fiance and I started this diet one month before we were scheduled to go on a Mexico Cruise. We each lost about 4 lbs in a month which left us a little unmotivated and we totally gorged ourselves while on the cruise. I know I couldn't have gained as much as I feel like I did in one week, but my whole body feels different-lots of rolls and jiggles.

    ANYWAY-today we're back on day one and we're totally motived. We haven't figured out when and where we're going to fit in our exercise because I just bought a horse and that's going to take up a ton of time riding and training (maybe that IS exercise?!), but we're totally commited. I can say that I KNOW I am the heaviest right now that I have ever been in my life. I don't even know what number that puts me at because I'm too scared to step on the scale. I'm going to win this time, no vacations or trips to stand in my way, I'm on the road to success.

    I'm just bummed because deep down, I know it's a long long long long road.

    Hey!! Try not to be bummed. That long, long, road had to be built inch by inch. You can do it - just take it one day at a time. Maybe one hour at a time. That is how I started this and now I'm almost 1/2 way to goal. (And it was a HUGE goal!)

    You WILL Succeed if you put your mind to it! Best of luck!

        Um, yes, horse=exercise! Riding, training, mucking out the stables . . . oh some calories will be burned!!

          Hi Snuggles11...welcome back!
          Nice that you and your fiance are in this together. That'll make it a lot easier for both of you.
          Check in here lots, especially when you're feeling like cheating, as it's great for inspiration or a kick in the arse when you need it.
          I bet you get more of a workout than you realize on a horse. I'm scared of them, so I would be all tensed up and squeezing the heck out of that poor horse's belly....that would be great for the thighs and abs!

            MG, you gave me the giggles.... so funny.

            Snuggles, I know you think that you have a lot of weight to lose and it will take you ages, but you need to change your thinking about what a looonnng journey this is going to be, because you're defeating yourself before you begin. Don't make it harder on yourself, find ways to make it easier.

            A famous person (Abe Lincoln) said, most people are about as miserable as they make up their minds to be (or something similar to that). What I think he meant was, thoughts can be powerful. If you tell yourself this will be a long, hard journey, then I can almost assure you that that is what it will be. You've got to get up each day and think positive thoughts. You have to make this something interesting, fun, and not just a diet but a way of life... a healthier life. However you can find to do that, do that.

            Read some of the testimonials on here and see how long it took others, what their secrets were, etc. If you are horseback riding and you're eating low carb, you will be burning off the weight with just a little effort. You can do this, I know you can.
