Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum, but have been reading it for a few weeks now. I decided to jump on the atkins wagon about 4 years ago with my mom and dad. I did the induction phase and lost 10 pounds. But soon after my parents stopped the plan and with being younger at the time I followed them.
I re-started atkins on May 8th 2007. Starting weight was 214.4 pounds. Today is day 7 into the induction and I am down to 207.0 pounds as of this morning! I couldn't be happier, 7.5 pounds already gone, woot!
I have struggled with my weight since I was very young, and up until I was 15 years old, everyone thought it was just because I didn't eat well. But my parents knew what I was eating, and they didn't understand how I could be putting on weight so fast. So, I made an appointment with my doctor and she found a cyst the size of water melon that weighed 12 pounds on my left ovary. The doctors said that because it was so big, it was pressing against my organs and making it so that food was really hard to digest (passing through my stomac) so my metabolism slowed down very significantly. I had a surgery that november to have it removed. On the operation day I was 243 pounds. Since that day I have been eating well, and have gone all the way down to 203 pounds - a 40 pound loss. However, now 3 years later, I have been struggling for the past 6 months to get under that 200 mark! It seems so impossible, I have been staying around 215 - 205 for so long, and I just want to get under the big 200!
With only 7 pounds to go, that doesn't seem so far for my first minigoal of 199 pounds, but with 6 months of trying, I'm so discouraged. I love that I have already lost 7.5 pounds on atkins in 7 days, I know it isn't water, because I have been following healthy eating for a long long time, and have been drinking near a gallon of water a day. My pants are looser. I love the feeling!!! I just hope that this time I can get under that huge milstone. I want to see the beautiful 1 as my biggest number when I step on that scale! Oh I hope I can make it.
I weigh myself every morning and these have been the weight for the past 7 days:
May 8th - day 1: 214.4 pounds
May 9th - day 2: 212.4 pounds
May 10th - day 3: 210.8 pounds
May 11th - day 4: 208.4 pounds
May 12th - day 5: 207.6 pounds
May 13th - day 6: 206.2 pounds
May 14th - day 7: 207.0 pounds
I think it's a very nice trend. I'm not too worried about the .8 pound gain over night, I ate alot of meat and could have to do with salt intake. I was very tired the first 4-5 days. Exhausted! So I did not start exercising yet, but will start doing my Turbo Jam tapes again tonight.

It always helps to have that first five pounds down. It a great boost to see the scale move that fast right away! Keep up the good work.
