  • Day 13 and feeling sick

So I've done induction for 13 days now. At first (first 3 days) I felt awful, but I pushed on and ended up feeling totally fine. However, since then I've been having "off" days. Today I have a headache, I'm SUPER weak and I'm nauseous. I feel almost like I did at the beginning of induction, maybe eve a little worse. I haven't cheated, so it's not like I'm going back and forth with the induction flu....like I said I felt fine for a while. My biggest thing throughout induction has been weakness and headaches.....I'm very very weak and have been getting very frequent headaches. Anyone know what might be causing this?
Here is what I ate today, maybe this will help.
I started with a Vitamin C and multivitamin.
Breakfast: 3 scrambled eggs with 1 cup of mushrooms and some cheese melted in there, as well as a bit of butter.
Lunch - Chicken breast stuffed with cheese and ham, 1 cup of salad (romaine lettuce)
Snack - 1/2 cup of yellow peppers
Dinner - Chicken breast, 1 cup of asparagus
    Snack - Cheese

    Thanks...!

I felt that way ALL through induction. Just really weak and sick. I started OWL immediately after finishing the first two weeks and I feel SO much better. The funny thing is most days my carbs are between 20-30 but adding higher carb foods in (cottage cheese, strawberries, walnuts) I just feel soooo much better. Are you going to move on to OWL?

Yep i agree, i think you're jsut gonna be one of those people who needs the extra cup of veggies in your daily allowance!! just make sure when your done on your 14 days you move up to rung one and stay there for a few weeks (depending on how much you have to lose)

Oh good, I feel SO much better knowing other people have felt this way too! I thought I was doing something wrong. I think I'll move on to OWL, but I'm not sure yet. I want to lose about 15 pounds or so. I thought about staying on induction for 3 weeks because I had a bit of a rocky beginning (was eating too many vegetables accidentally for about 4 days!)....so I thought I'd make up for that. But, I'm really not sure! Depends how I feel I guess.

I had a little more than 15 to lose once I started OWL and it hasn't slowed me a bit, in fact I lost TWO lbs this past week!! I'd move on, you will feel so much better. I could not believe how weak and awful I felt during Induction.....the difference a few higher carb foods make is unbelieveable!

Try potassium supplementation (check your multi vitamin - need 4700 mg) also check calcium and magnesium. I went through what you are saying and this helped me and I was supplementing carefully already. Please don't ignore the potassium, lack of it can hurt your heart.

I did buy Potassium supplement because my multi vitamin doesn't contain it. But, then I was under the impression that I didn't need to take it because as long as I'm eating leafy greens I will get potassium from that. Can taking a potassium supplement hurt you at all?

Re: Day 13 and feeling sick

                From Pure Nutrition and Health:

                POTASSIUM OVERDOSE?

“A question popped up the other day about potassium intake. With some folks relying heavily on bananas for the bulk of calories, i.e. eating 10+ a day, is there any risk of potassium overdose? I did a little bit of research on the web, but could come up with nothing definitive.”

ANSWER: There's really no point to fear any potassium “overdose” even when eating a fair number of bananas. Research done on wild monkeys showed that they eat over 6500 milligrams of potassium per day, which would take you over 15 bananas to eat as much potassium as they do. Plus wild monkeys are smaller in size than we are, so we could eat even more bananas and not even reach the potassium intake a monkey has on a daily basis.

The last article published in my e-zine showed that early humans consumed 40 times as much potassium as sodium. It makes sense because we lose potassium a lot faster than sodium.

Even standard nutritionists agree that most people do not eat enough potassium and that ideally they should consume close to 5000 milligrams per day, and even more for active people.

If you have a Fitday account, it will show how much potassium you are getting from your food daily. Also the body absorbs only a small percentage of the dose from a tablet, capsules have a better absorption rate.
