  • Fiber Junkie

Hello there, I'm 5'3" 138 lbs. I would like to lose about 10 lbs. I am on day 3 and here is the problem I'm going to have on induction.

I am a fiber junkie! I love whole grains (tortillas, cereal, wasa) and fruits. I know the water helps, but I don't think there are enough veggies in induction to get the required 25 g of fiber.

    Any suggestions?

I have used flaxseed before, just sprinkling it over the top of salads. I've heard they're supposed to be ground. Any suggestions for how you use them, and do you need to grind them?

I buy flaxseed meal. It's ground and the kind I buy is organic. There are even recipes on Linda's recipe website that use flaxseed meal so you can make muffins and the like. Check it out: http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/

I grind mine in a coffee grinder that I bought specially for using to grind linseeds (flax in USA) but initially I used the coffee grinding attachment of my food processor
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

For the first 2 weeks of induction we are supposed to make our fibre intake amount to up to 20 net carbs mostly from our veggies, which for many people will be an increase in their fibre(!!!) but for you will mean a drop temporarily.

Then if you move to the first rung of OWL and stay there for a while you will soon get your fibre carbs up closer to where you are used to, as you add several 5 net carbsworths before moving on up the OWL carb ladder.

Remember, we are working to different guidelines from the ones you have been following in the past so we do need to adjust our thinking and sometimes eat different amounts of types of food to the 'mainstream' recommendations.
