Drinking lots of water keto-stix still dark purple Help!!
Has anyone experienced this before?? I'm drinking the minimum amount of water plus some and this strip won't turn lighter. What is going on??

Well it does generally mean your body is dehydrated, but when are you testing?
You shouldnt test in a morning or after exercise.

You might just be one of those people who show a dark reading on the sticks rather than there being anything wrong. I was the opposite and saw no change in colour at all!!
BTW most people are happy to see a dark reading and post here asking what they are doing wrong when they are seeing only the lightest colour change!!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

When I used the sticks mine almost always registered very dark as well even when I drank tons of water. Atkins said it wasn't the shade you are after, just getting it to turn, so I think you are fine

Any color change at all is fine according to DANDR. As you add some carbs back into your diet, the color will lighten. Don't fret, most on this board would love to have the dark color change, it means you are well into ketosis! Congrats!

I'm glad you all have replied. I have just the opposite reaction. I am on day 5 of induction and am sticking to it but the color is just about at trace level. Only once did it turn to the low color. I have to admit I did weigh myself just to see if I'm loosing (since I seem to be eating and not hungry) and I have gotten rid of 5 lbs!!!

Where do you buy the keto-stix at? I've looked in Wal-Mart & CVS....Back in Induction again...fell off the wagon...Atkins was great though...I dropped down to 187...the lowest I've been in several years!

I bought mine in Drug Fair and CVS should have them. You may have to ask the Pharmacist because they have to keep them behind the counter in our state.

CVS sells their generic version for $9.99 for 50 sticks while Ketostix is about $13 and change
