  • Still waiting to feel better.

Well I'm on day 10. I'm eating right, drinking right, taking supplements....but I don't think I've ever been so tired in my life. All I want to do is sleep. I had the hardest time getting up this morning I couldn't force my eyes open. I've only been up two hours and I my eyes want to close and let me sleep. I've never felt this tired as long as I can remember. I just tried to get on the tredmill but 2 minutes into it I was so tired and weak I had to get off. I am on my TOM right now but that never brings me down this bad. I'm going to give this diet one more week but if it doesn't get better I'll have to quit because I just can't live like this, I feel horrible.

Re: Still waiting to feel better.

It could still be induction flu, though usually this goes after a few days.

Are you getting enough carbs in? I know that may sound contradictory when you're only allowed 20g per day in induction, but you do need some... or you will feel tired and low. Some people are better with just a few more, too... so you could try moving to the first rung of OWL (ongoing weight loss) as soon as you're up to day 14. Then you can add an extra 5gs of veggies. You don't need to move further up the rungs for a while if you don't want to.

Can you post a menu or two in the Review my Menu forum? You'll probably get some good opinions there...

Poor you! I felt dreadful the first couple of days too. The tiredness was unbelievable. But thankfully for me, it all switched by day 4/5. Day 10 seems very long. It could be that its tom, combined with induction, is making you feel yuck. But I agree with Sally. You should start checking your carb intake. The best piece of advice I got from this board was to join fitday.com. Check it out and join if you haven't already. I realised I wasn't having enough carbs each day, so increased a bit and made sure my percentages were right.
The other thing to check is are you having enough calories a day. Fitday will log that for you. I found out that I was only averaging about 1000 cals when I should be at around 1700. I've now added some cream cheese and other lovely things into my diet and thankfully it helps add the calories up to where it should be.

      Hope you feel better soon.

Re: Still waiting to feel better.

Definately follow the advice earlier in the thread. Make sure you're having enough carbs and calories!

I had a HORRID case of induction flu all the way into week 3! I was VERY tired, had headaches, my brain was "fuzzy" and worse. I was HARDCORE addicted to fast foods (like 2-3 times a day I HAD TO EAT fast foods). It sucked horribly, but I stuck out the nasty feelings, and it was completely worth it. Ever since I've felt energized on a level I've never felt before. Once I got over my sugar addiction, I've had fantastic energy levels at work without constant ups and downs. I never feel bloated and overly full. It's a feeling that I could never give up for the way I used to live. Looking back on my induction flu makes me shudder, but if you can just stick it out, you'll never regret it!

Did you quit caffiene as well? Sometimes it can take a few weeks to fully detox from it. Other than what everyone else is telling you..make sure you are eating enough food/carbs/veggies. I would hang in there for a few more days to see if it will pass.
