Moose, Your menu looks good. Are you only eating cucumber and lettuce because that's the "only" veggies you like? How about cabbage or broccoli or jicama or spinach or greens or something like that for your 3rd cup of veggies instead of lettuce? They have more FIBER and more nutrients.

The only other thing I'd keep an eye on is that your protein looks too high and your fat too low. Atkins is a high fat diet, not a high protein diet. Your body will convert excess protein into sugar. You don't want that to happen. So, eat chicken with the skin on instead of skinless breasts, eat fatty cuts of meat like ribeye, regular ground beef, pork steaks, bacon, sausage, etc. Use creamy style salad dressings like ranch and blue cheese instead of the italian....or use mayonnaise and sour cream to make your own dressing with some herbs and spices.

So I should cut down on Chicken (I cant stand the skin or chicken on a bone). I thought I was eating to much sausage so I guess Ill start eating more of it. As far as the vegies are concerned thats pretty much the only vegies I eat. I usually grill 2 boneless skinless chicken breast and put it on a bed of salad mix with shredded chedder on top of it. As for the sausage I usually eat 1lb mixed with cheese and a whole cucumber with italian. Oh yeah by the way is cauliflower or broccoli steamed with cheese OK I like that. Thanks for the heads up

Okay...since you don't like the skin on the chicken, make sure that when you cook it, you cook it in olive oil or something like that. Do you like mayonnaise? Avocado? Real butter?? I'm trying to find some fats for you. That's the principle of Atkins. Kind of like a "green wood" fire...you have to give it more and more and more green wood to keep it burning. As soon as you stop "feeding" the fire, it quits burning.

The italian dressing doesn't have enough fat. That's why I suggest ranch or a mayo/sour cream based dressing.

Broccoli or cauliflower with cheese is perfect! 1 cup of it instead of the lettuce. I'd keep the cucumber, but just change up that 3rd "cup" of veggies for something a little more substantial.

Oooh since you like boneless skinless chicken breast...and broccoli...here's a recipe I think you'll like. It's one of my favorites. Cook your chicken breast...I like to cut mine up into small pieces and cook it in a tablespoon of olive oil. Toss some broccoli in too, to cook. Then, when the chicken and broccoli is done, add a teaspoon of butter to the pan (you don't want the pan sizzling hot, it will burn the butter) then sprinkle some parmesan cheese in the green can into the butter. Let it get hot (30 seconds or so) and then pour a tablespoon of heavy cream into that and stir it around. Now you've got a really high fat meal with the boneless skinless chicken...AND your broccoli. AND it's major yummy and creamy and cheesy. Mmmmmm. It's a chicken and broccoli in alfredo sauce.

It doesn't have to be EXACT but you should aim for 65% fat, 5% carbs and 30% protein.

Just a suggestion - I see you're not fond of the skin on chicken or the bone - but, how about boneless thighs? They're higher in fat count and, oh so yummy on the grill!

I was wondering instead of boneless skinless breat what about a fried chicken sandwich without the bun (Like Mcdonalds McChicken) will that be a good substitute instead? I am not a big fan of Mayonaise what about Sour Creme?

According to McD's website at http://app.mcdonalds.com/bagamcmeal the chicken contains lots of additives so really isnt a better choice than using real chicken.

Sour cream is induction-legal as a 'garnish' (in small quantities) and is also included in the special category foods (one ounce/2 level tablespoons of sour cream) if it does not hinder your weight loss.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
