  • Start weight problem

This is not a problem as such but it is a bit odd and I was wondering if anyone can advise me, on Monday I weighed myself and the scale said 167lbs (though in stone's and ounces - 11st 11lb) but on Tuesday after just one day following this eating plan I weighed myself again (naughty I know) and my weight was 163lbs. The latter is the weight that I have used in my ticker but I was wondering how my weight could have fluctuated so greatly in just one day and should I be using 167lbs or 163lbs as my starting weight

I dont have an answer for you but I can say I used to be addicted to the scale and would weigh myself atleast once everyday. In doing that I would notice HUGE shifts in weight day to day. morning to night would show a difference of 5 lbs! I think its best to weigh yourself once a week, in the morning before breakfast. It will give you the best idea of your actual weight. Better yet...track the inches instead

      Hiya,

Weight can change so much, so quickly!
The other week I did an experiment (you can see in my journal chat) I weighed myself everyday for a week. Mad! Lolol..the scales were reading different all the time. So many factors come into play with weight...water retention, TOM, excercise and lack of...etc
Best thing to do is avoid the scales!
I weigh in once a week...even that for some people is too much! But I find it's great for me as I like to see how I'm doing of course! And because the scales change so much all of the time...by just doing it once a week your not getting as obsessed with different numbers and most of the time you will have a great suprise!

Oh and personally I'd go with the 167lbs...that was your initial weigh in when you started. If things carry on like you say you should be in for a great loss at the end of induction! But try and avoid the scales lol. I bet if you weighed again 4 days in and saw a gain you would feel disheartened...and that's dangerous as it could throw you off track.
Good luck I'm sure you''ll do fab!

You are both right, I have decided to put the scales in the boot of my husband's car, that way he'll be at work when I wake and that's the time I get most tempted to have a little peek at what I weigh, although I haven't weighed myself since Tuesday. I have taken my measurements now though and I won't weigh in until 4th June, thank you
