it is normal that your body reacts...you don't have to be scared....you just have to make it trough these few days...you'll feel much better.Soon when you start losing weight you'll forget how you felt.
Please don't give up..you will be unhappy if you do.. Even if you have to lay around for the next two days...and be sick...It will be so worth it.. I promise you you will start to feel better.. Just think all the blah is junk coming out of your body.. YOU CAN DO IT
The first couple days is always the hardest. Just think it will get easier if you can make it through these 2 weeks. You will feel so much better after that! You can do it!
Your energy will definately increase! How you feel right now is only temporary. For myself I noticed an increase in energy around day 4 and now 70 something days into this new wol I feel like a new person. At 313lb I didn't have energy to do ANYTHING...my house suffered (terribly sometimes) and I never wanted to anything and now it seems there is no stopping me. I hope I never go back to my old ways...day by day it gets better. Just hang in there and give yourself a chance!
Hang in there. It does get better, I promise! I had a particularly bad case of the induction flu for all two weeks of induction, and then an additional week once I got to rung 1. I feel asleep at every opportunity I got. This is no exageration. I lost all of my motivation, my house fell into disorder, and I ran out of clean clothes to wear because I just could not bring myself to do the laundry. I could barely make it up the stairs even though I was in good shape before starting Atkins. All of that changed when I got to the second week of rung 1. Now my energy is back to normal just as if I were eating carbs. I am still in ketosis (as evidenced by my keto-breath (gag)). My motivation to do things in life has returned. To my surprise, I feel pretty good! Induction is only two weeks long--just two weeks out of the long life you will have--and you can do it! You WILL feel better eventually. If you feel tired, then take it easy.
Persist!
Just wanna lose a few lbs
Start date: 02/11/08 158/158/120 38 pounds to go F, 5'7"
I went through that too, but it does improve. To the point actually where you feel on top of the world! Are you keeping track of your carb intake every day? It's really helpful to do this. You can just write it down in a notebook or there is a site which a lot of us use called Fitday, where you enter foods eaten and the quantity and it calculates the carbs for you. One thing to keep in mind is that in induction you should be getting 12-15 net carbs (carbs minus fiber) from veggies alone. Some people on here include a link in their signature to their fitday account so you can go and see what they've entered. It's pretty cool. Whatever works for you! The more you educate yourself about this way of eating, the better off you'll be. Cruise around the board and post any questions. One thing I found really helpful during induction was to have cut up veggies, cheese, chicken pieces and boiled eggs always on hand.
Anyways, hope you feel better soon!
Great! Some posters have found it confusing, so please ask for help or read the various "how to use fitday" threads. (I think there's one in the FAQ). Adding a food item that you buy, that you can't find on Fitday, is easily done by using the custom food feature. You'll need to have the nutritional label in front of you though.
