    measuring lettuce, loose or packed?

    Hey all,

Just wondering, when measuring the amount of lettuce (romaine)for a salad, do you measure it loose or packed? 'cause loose lettuce fills up the measureing cup awful dang fast!

    thanks!

    Hi, Jim

My new best friend is my little food scale. I got it from Walmart for about 4 dollars. Go to the forum for the Atkins Phases and go into Low Carb Dieting FAQ'S. You can then click on a Nutritional Spreadsheet which has a good list of foods and their weights per serving. After seeing how easy it is to do it by weight rather than by eye-balling a cup, I can't believe I struggled the other way for so long. Good Luck!

Edited to Add: Here is the link to get to the Nutritional Spreadsheet:
