restart for me.. Question on Bacon, lunch meat

    Well.. I didnt do my homework and I am starting day 1 over. I never did day 1 today, because I didnt understand NO SUGAR in the foods.. so i started off wrong.
    I was actually disappointed -- but hey.. i get to go again tomorrow.
    Ill be glad when my book comes in.
    I have a couple questions though since im restarting
    What kind of bacon is best?

    Can i eat deli lunch meats?

    If i find a food that isnt on the list that does not have those bad words in the ingredients,, no sugar and no carbs can I eat it?

    If i stick to the diet exactly on the list will i get 20 grams of carbs per day?

    I dont know how to count for the veggies cause my three cups will be a mixture of things I can have.

    Here are my thoughts in blue after your questions:

    What kind of bacon is best?
    Check the labels before you buy - there is a thread on this forum about bacon that does give some makes to look for.

    Can i eat deli lunch meats?
    Again check labels - you might have to ask the staff for this info if the meats are not prepacked with labels

    If i find a food that isnt on the list that does not have those bad words in the ingredients,, no sugar and no carbs can I eat it?
    No - stick to the foods on the list and only add different ones when you reach the relevant rung of OWL

    If i stick to the diet exactly on the list will i get 20 grams of carbs per day?
    Only by choosing veggies with enough carbs in them. Many of us use www.fitday.com to log our foods to help us work out in advance what our carb count will amount to, so we can tweak menus if needed

    I dont know how to count for the veggies cause my three cups will be a mixture of things I can have.
    If you do use fitday you will be able to list say 2 medium mushrooms, 3 strips of peppers and 1 cup romaine lettuce for example and get an idea of the carbs in them.
