Flax is limited to 1 tablespoon daily for use a fiber supplement. If you are using it to relieve constipation, you can use more, until you find relief of your constipation.
uh oh, didn't know that about the 1 tbsp limit... I've been doing 2... trying to keep constipation at bay.... okay, I'll cut back to 1. Thanks for the info.

If two keeps your constipation at bay, then it's okay to have two tablespoons. We've had problems in the past where people were eating 1 cup of that stuff because they were using it as a grain/flour substitute and not because they had constipation issues. Like any other food, flaxmeal is a "Your Mileage May Vary" thing: for some people it doesn't affect their weight loss, for others it does.
Everything you eat and drink gets counted towards your daily carb totals.

Baking powder technically is.
The book says 2 tablespoons or more if you need it to relieve constipation
I just found this online for anyone curious about baking powder Bakingpowder contains sodium bicarbonate, but it includes the acidifying agent already (cream of tartar), and also a drying agent (usually starch)
Another thing - The one I bought from the supermarket (supercook gluten free) has 16g per 100g.
Frankly, I would avoid anything that isn't on the list during the 14 day Induction. Remember, it's just 14 days without eating faux baked goods and the result you get during these 14 days is very important because it helps you determine how to plan the rest of your Atkins.
